My team would use those two extra spots to bring in a 4th blocking WR and a kick returner, most likely, increasing the strength of our offense. Roster expansion would not change the balance.

Ya extra roster spots aren't going to help this game whatsoever.

Defense needs a big buff If anything. The only thing these offseason changes did was make the passing game even more overpowered when compared to the run game.

Does it need a buff or does making defensive superstars need more incentive? Everyone wants fame and glory thus why offensive superstars are more common imo. Almost never see someone just make a s*defender (other then DT because no one sees glory in oline) yet every season you see multiple qb/HB/wr superstars built without any team or thought.

I think the offseason changes absolutely highlight how weak defensive shed blocking has been as a whole. But there was no doubt passing was OP even before the changes and I am not sure how it is still OP when compared to the run game. That seems a bit far fetched.

Superstar defenders are kind of a joke honestly. They just more highlight how ridiculously OP offense players are.

the biggest issue is that S* defender costs more wage then most offensive ones, and it's hard having 1 S* CB when you can't guarantee he will be facing the S* WR

at least when facing run you can put S* in strategic places, alsodefensive shed blocking wasn't weak before know it's just op if you built a somewhat decent defender. the biggest shed block issue was that defenders had less skill in the stats compared to offence.

and in place of fixing builds they've just said ok lets make it easier to stop run so people stop complaining. of course higher tier teams will still be able to run for some seasons but after the new teams comes up that has been built with new changes even stunners will have issues

LOL no...i mean no at all. Why do ppl write such bullshit that has no prove behind it whatsoever. To spread lies and force Nerds? Stupid.

Besides yeah, Offense is too strong compared to D

There are 100% rush/pass teams across all tiers and most are dominated by run teams. I dont wanna say that running is OP compared to passing but definitely is passing not OP to running, lol.

The only thing OP is Offense in general. Stop this "nerf what I dont do at all" thing.

Maybe a solution would be to punnish teams that only pass/only run. Punnish them by adding extra Skill levels to D players for the reminder of the game or sth

Well if we go by the game historically, a shift happens every few seasons. So since passing is working well right now, it will flow like that for a few seasons, then running will come back round the block after things are changed to tone down passing. Then from seasons like 11/12-15/16 running will reign supreme again. Then things will get nerfed and passing will become the king of the block again...And so on and so on...

Sorry but there's no "bullshit" behind it. A well built defense that is tailored to stop the run will do well enough to at least limit the run game. Not necessarily stop it since that's pretty much impossible but at least contain it. Passing on the other hand you're gonna be hard pressed to find a team that's tailored to contain the pass that will do well. Pressure doesn't do shit to force bad throws against a QB and double and triple coverage doesn't mean much if the QB is dropping dimes whenever he wants. And don't call what I say as stupid, that really pisses me off whether I'm right or wrong in what I'm saying.

If we want "realistic" then Defense would need a boost in places. For instance the highest scoring team in the NFL is averaging 31 points a game, where if we take Air Raid and look at just their ladder games, they are averaging 46 points a game.

Now when we look at when "Good" teams match up, usually we see high scoring affairs. As Adder said in another post, it is hard to keep a good team from scoring less than 30.

The main issue is that most who pay attention to the nuances of the game and might enjoy a tougher defense and less scoring, would be out numbered by the tears that would flow from everyone else if their WR or HB didnt have 4000 yards and 40 TDs.
