Screen passes are caught most of the time anyway. Don't imagine that Quick Hitter will provide that much extra to screens. I also do not believe that this was the intention but screens are just about always an uncontested catch which receivers are able to haul in more often than not even if their hands are lower.

Seems like the man awareness check is too hard - even for guys with man awareness at 85+ they miss it most of the time.

I cant quote her ot work...

but @Leos:

really? Have you actually played this game? I ask because you said that unceontested catches are easier and caught most of the time anyway. That is so wrong imo. And it is still ridiculous, how many screens get dropped.

I dunno why ppl try to make so much advertisment to nerf screens

Screens are an average of 80% catch rate. So yah most of the time is true but really depends on what level you are in the game. Rookie I would say hat is more near 60 but more often than not is above 50 to be technical

Could have written up a nice rebuttal but Stobie just threw math at you. Not really needed. So glad we do not need to have a long back and forth argument here peeti!

Uncontested catches probably was not the "right" wording though. It seems to me though that if there are no unblocked defenders within a 5-10 yard radius, the WR/HB or whatever makes the catch at a much better rate (as they should). Also did not mean how the post read. I drink too often. I meant that I did not believe that screen passes were meant to be included in quick hitter as it does say within 6 yards "downfield". Was not calling for a nerf. LOL

My S* QB couldn't make screens work with my S* WRs near the end of their third season. The QB would throw the ball way behind the play or the WR would fall down or the blocks wouldn't hold.

I wasn't impressed and cut them after a game.

The screens, not the players.

Screen plays are more about the receiver than the QB. Obviously QB accuracy is important. But, if the receivers balance isn't great the receiver will fall down more often than not. Even at 60+ balance I've seen my receiver fall, 10-20% of the time I'd guess.

Yea this game is pretty backwards on passing, 30 yard bomb catch and stand no problem. 5 Yard screen pass ball now has butter on it and field turns to ice.

That 20% drop rate is much higher than uncontested longer throws then factor in the fall down rate and I'd imagine your sitting at 40% failure rate without the defense doing a thing. I would say that they way CBs charge the middle of the field on screens is very dumb however. Unless blitzing CBs have no business doing that.

Probably because QBs only have one power setting. I'm guessing that a 30 yard bomb, thrown as hard as a QB can throw, would be easier to catch than a five yard screen pass thrown as hard as the QB can throw. If you are off target at all, you can adjust to the ball easier, and the ball will have slowed down a bit by the time it gets to you.

Screens shouldn't be so hard to catch and they should look like a dump pass, not a bullet.
