Pass-defense team*? Yeah we were forced to be in the league were were in -- At least until we were forced to play up a tier against all the rushing teams.

Inquiring about a s* QB in our second season = calling ourselves a passing team every other season?

I don't think anyone else has had trouble understanding the concept that we're a rushing team. All of our blockers are primarily run blockers, you should be able to conclude that by looking at our line's traits or checking any of our box scores... lol

I generally agree. Particularly on power tackling and Interception.

As it is, there's so few true Interception builds in existence. It's unaffordable when you account for needing a decent investment in tackling skills. A superstar build can add it in and get away with it. Air Raid has more trouble from fumbles after the catch than we do from interceptions as it is. I can count the number of teams on one hand that are built to consistently produce interceptions, and basically none of them are in the top 15, because if they can pick off passes, they're getting wrecked by even semi-decent rushing attacks.

We all should've known that 70 tackle tech with lower power tackling/tackling grip wasn't going to work very well. Most good defenders on GLB1 had north of 80 tackling skill right? And investments into tackling +% gear. And tackling VAs. I know for a fact there's defenders in the secondary and on defensive lines on some veteran teams that don't even average out above 50 on tackle tech/power tackling/tackling grip. It's no wonder backs like Taurus can wreck poorly conceived defenses.

I'd also guess most defenders are woefully short on diving on most teams too. Corndog's previously hinted that your "tackling radius" is impacted by diving. That used to be included in the tackling skill too from GLB1. Which was a really big deal. I bet there's a whole bunch of LBs, Safeties, and CBs in Veteran that never took diving above minimum, and then wonder why they miss/don't attempt tackles basically standing on top of the ball carrier.

I could see diving help against Elusive backs and maybe against Power Backs diving from behind, but I don't see it being a major factor anywhere. I remember seeing that post from Corndog a while back that a crazy number of defender had never added any points into it though.

You get drops in cost of all those categories and you may as well just skip the building process on S*'s and call them max players.

The answer for sure is not lessening the cost of skills. Dear god why are we trying to make building a player that much more simple?

Lets bring more SA's to the table. Lets change some SA's to make them more useful to their cause.

A good example being Eye on the Prize. Let's face it, full zones only defense is never gonna be a legit pass defense to rely on so why are we forcing this SA to be good for a zone only player? Currently there is no good SA for a man to man intercept player. Pick 6? More like Pick your nose.

kind of weird you need higher then 70 tackling to tackle powerbacks with like 90+ power running. Would never have expected that

80+ tackling doesn't do much better.

100 tackling probably wouldnt even tackle 90+ power runners most of the time due to the fact that there is no SA that raises the floor on the tackling tech. roll

Monster hit gives 75%+ to your Power tackling rolls. That's 25% more than Power Thrus bonus to power running.

Except Monster Hit doesn't fire as often because of the angle/speed restrictions.

No one has tried it with high enough power tackling, I see it fire on Darkness a pretty good amount.

i see the angle speed restriction as benefitting the defender, no use in firing a SA that reduces tackling tech in situations where you power isn't going to be a huge impact
