As for teams building for one extreme or another, that's the nature of the skill system.

It'd be an entirely different situation if pass block power and run block power were a single skill.

I think it would be better if there were only three skills.

Saw your suggestion on that. I don't think I agree with it.

I didn't like it when Bioware streamlined Mass Effect and Dragon Age into ME2 and DA2, and I don't think I'd like it in mah GLB either.

Maybe but blocking could be taken from 6 basic down to 5. Combining both power skills into a singular leverage skill for example. To be fair defense could be the same way combining pass rush power and hg into leverage. It wouldn't be much but could free up the lines a little to be more open to combo builds instead of extremes leaving the extreme builds to still be specialists.

what if instead of pass blocking power and run blocking power, you had it more like the SAs, with a skill that reduces your ground lost when losing, and another skill that improves the impact from winning blocking rolls? Then it's useful for run and passing schemes, with the same number of skills.

Theres more than a few places the skills probably could have been split up differently in ways that made better sense and retained more flexibility.

This gives me an idea. What about a combination of Get Low and Strong Arm, that at Gold only activates 35% of the time, instead of at 50%. But you make it sort of like Traits and player creation, where once you select it, Get Low and Strong Arm are grayed out. Then you make it fire off of Balance instead of both RBP and PBP.

I mean, something needs to happen to make teams that both pass & run more appealing for veteran managers.

They give you so many skills that you have the illusion of choice.

The reality is, things were better when paper was paper and rock was rock.

Now everything is rock, and rock is also paper, and all we are talking about is how to nerf scissors.

What about Spock?

No but srs, why do you think so?
They give us a choice, yes. I dont see the "pretending" in most positions. Especially when you look at Defense. You have to make so many compromises in terms of Physicals vs Skills.

I like that and I think its way better that that "paper used to be paper". I gues you mean we had Strength and that was Strength all around. You really want that? I think thats boring and without ALGs, this would lead to copy builds more often than not.

Same with Speed. There IS a difference between Speed and Exceleration (?). Also it cant be compared with Agilities like Footwork.

Let papers be now paper and rocks all the way imo.

Maybe I also got you wrong. And yes...thos capital letters are on purpose, live with it

Choice is definitely an illusion in GLB2, but not for the reasons listed here...
