Totally agree.

Yeah, just like we should be able to walk down dark alleys in Chicago at 2 AM.

Not your fault if you get mugged.

You store things in the safety deposit box and you get the contents insured for a reason.

...

These are people who are constantly hunted by the paparazzi and aware of their desirable status. They are aware of how valuable an asset their nudity is, which is why they negotiate millions of dollars for agreeing to allow the public to have access and for someone to sell pictures or video of them naked.

Don't blame the victim for the crime, but don't cry when your million dollar Picasso was ruined in a flood if you kept it in your leaky basement.

This. It's wrong that the dude exploited it and there's some privacy or voyeur something he's going to be charged with, but storing stuff like that on the cloud? Not a smart idea.

The best part would be how quickly dudes changed their mind if a leaked video of them furiously fapping to this pics was released.

Yeah, if I was going to film myself fapping I would be furious that the video was released. Mostly at myself for filming myself fapping.

If someone snuck into my house and filmed me, I suppose that people on the internet would ask why I didn't do a better job of securing my house, knowing that it was a strong possibility that someone would want to break in and film me. Then I would remind them that I'm not a celebrity or unusually stalker prone and that it wouldn't even occur to me that people would want to see me fap.

Even still, I don't fap in public places, without locking my house, or in front of any known recording devices just to be sure.

citizen actions vs. gov't actions

pretty clear distinction to make there, not disagreeing with the final sentiment but the whole NSA double standard thing doesn't connect with me

Yeah, everybody but you thinks it's morally right to make these images public

The point is that these women just paid very dearly to learn that celebrities shouldn't be storing videos of dudes hitting them in the face with their dick (RIP Jessica Brown Findlay's career) in the Cloud.

As fun as victim blaming is, it still doesn't change that it's an invasion of privacy. As sexy (or not) as the pictures and videos may be, celebrating the lack of privacy still doesn't sit well with me. As awesome as technology and social media are, the bigger they grow the more and more personal privacy is eroded.

Now you can't even take a picture with your phone without it being uploaded to 4chan?

"Now you can't even take a picture with your phone without..."

1) You are taking a picture with your phone.
2) Go back twenty years and ask yourself, wow, how did celebrities manage to text their BF naked pictures of themselves without the internet getting it?
3) Then ask yourself how people used to take pictures with their phones.
4) Then remind yourself that when people used to want naked pictures of themselves they had to use film, get them developed (at a public place unless they had a dark room), and mail the pictures.
5) Then ask yourself how often that probably happened.
6) Now ask yourself how necessary the right to take naked pictures of yourself and instantly transmitting them really is.

It isn't necessary. Not much is really necessary.

But when given the choice of "New technology that you can use and share if you want" and "New technology that makes everything you do public domain", I'm going to go with the former.

Right, but do you not believe that people who risk to lose more should be more careful with what they risk?

Are you saying you want to see me fapping? Cause that's how you get a video of me fapping.

No one said this is right or a good thing at all. Just saying it's a risk you take. Anything you store online can be stolen so be careful what and where it's stored. If I am a celebrity the last thing I'd be storing online are naked pics.

Not sure how that is relevant, though?

But yeah, they were definitely asking for it.
