It may also be time to look at kickers, some of these misses are silly for the kind of accuracy/consistency/power these guys have It decides way too many games to be left so inconsistent

I was thinking the same thing. How a 60-70% FG kicker has the same output numbers with 60/60/60 in their stats as a kicker with 80/80/80 might be something awry.

Yes:

Kickers need to be buffed to be better (or at least made better at shorter ranges based on their skills)

Punters need to be nerfed - less distance at the very least.

There's big danger here in invalidating the kicker/punter positions. Basically if you shrink the ranges of performance, then the actual skills and builds become less meaningful. I can understand wanting to decrease the punt distance coming from the 100 power guys, but for that you need to shift the entire range (making the lower power guys worse as we;, which could create unrest in lower levels.

The last thing those positions need is 70 and 100 punt power being almost the same.

I agree it requires some fine tuning. I agree 70 power shouldn't be the same as 100 power....but I think it almost is now.

Just looking at punters though - this is kind of where we are right now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=HnemVxvTNS0#t=101

Also funny (based on my other boosting thread) - the current #1 hall of fame punter has never boosted! I would say that's because punters really don't need to.

Just looking at Pro - Cheetah
Top 2 Punters (on average) are at 61-62 yard punt average
the next 8 are all in the 51-60 range

Now - looking at Seasoned Adams
The top punter (by aveage) is at 58 yard average
The next 8 are all in the 49-54 range

My punter is at #6 in Adams with 67 power and he averaged 51 yards a punt.

So Pro is 2 full seasons ahead of me -- and they are getting only a few more yards than me (I'm basically 10 yards off of the pro leader). I know I'm over-simplifying here - but

Pro Cheetah avg leader: avg 61.7
Journeyman Europa avg leader: 56.7
Seasoned Adams avg leader: avg 57.9
Soph Helium avg leader: avg 51.8
Rookie Aries avg leader: 44.6

The inside 5/10/20/TB numbers aren't super different either. 4 yards for 2 seasons worth of experience?? Sure there are other things as well.

The curve isn't steep enough for punt yardage and I think this illustrates it well (not to mention: hey everyone - no real reason to pay to boost punters!).

A full year experience -- and your avg punt yardage gained is 4-7 yards?
Not to mention - I imagine the jump from Pro to Vet won't be that significant as punt power is probably nearly capped on most pro punters.

I think the bigger issue as you move up the coffin corner numbers are actually what concerns me.

The way I look at it comparison College to NFL isn't Rookie to Pro... Kickers you can argue that difference but that is saying that a QB at rookie is compared to college and Pro/Vet is NFL... HA, far too much gap.

Question that direct comparison, what is Rookie and what is Pro.

I suspect the values would look alot better, and accuracy guys doing coffing corners would look more valuable if we were doing net punting yardage and accounting for touchbacks and returns.

Just looking at I B Punter from Cheetah for instance. If you subtract the yardage from his 73 touchbacks, he's punting for right at 49 Yards. The best NFL teams are Net punting for 45 yards, which includes returns. We don't get return yardage on punters as a stat unfortunately, but taking some league averages:

Cheetah had 301 punt returns for 3922 yards this year, a 13.02 average return. Let's say 13 yards per return. There were 974 punts in cheetah this season, so 13 yards per return turns into right at 4 return yards per punt. We'll just assume this evenly applies to I B Punter.

Which means, I B Punter is probably at ~45 net punt yards, which is right in line with the St. Louis Rams, who led the NFL last season.

Modes of transportation. CPU leagues will be named "tricycle league, wheelie shoes league, and car seat league."
