How so?

I've beat Middle Overload spam and could beat it time and time again.

Dude...You got a team of WRs that handle this play very easily. But looking at the whole game, MO is simply too strong for a single D play. This game needs more diversity in play calling and MO is not helping that fact

Outside runs work again for beating Middle Overload, even without Romoesque WR's.

Three and four WR sets not only beat Middle Overload, but likely lead to huge plays against it.

If you think it's beating one play you obviously aren't watching much of anything. I can tell you right now it if I'm facing any team who doesn't pitch I'm probably shutting them out with middle overload by itself.

Not every team is built to pitch and middle overload shuts down most passes. I'm less worried about myself and more so the average player who is getting lit up by one single play that is incorrectly designed.

This.

Much like how QB rollout abuses the default goalline defenses to hell, MO smothers a default offense.

Funny...I pointed that out when everyone else still complained about QB Rollout. Glad to see its getting attention, now. Even when I made threads about this play ppl kept saying its a 0815 play and sooooo easy to beat^^

Just to be clear...yes, it is easy to beat at leater levels. But fck, one play still shouldnt be so damn powerful

I have been saying its incorrectly designed the entire time but Corndog doesn't want to go through and fix that so I really don't know what to say about it. The play is the ultimate pass rush against 80% of the playbook (even 3-5 WR plays) and straight up stuffs just about any inside run there is. If you are built to pitch the ball you can definitely overcome its ability and that is fine. The best teams in the game will overcome it, but it is the average teams that feel the pounding of one single play used 100% in a game and are left saying well fuck this game I am out of here.

Exactly my thoughts...Stuff the Run, OK. Beeing one of the best pass rushing plays? meh

I thought my solution to switch the blitzers would be at least considered, but got no reaction to that one... There are prolly better solutions to fix the play, but sth to balnce it would be nice I think.
Its just so boring to face a team using that play 80%of the time...

I don't think Middle Overload is extremely effective. It's just extremely effective if your opponent is riddled to spamming the same type of play over and over.

It's all good, about to bring the QB Rollout spam to the next match-up.

About that...

and

(and okay, so maybe Quincy cheated on that second one and ran outside, but the playcall was inside)

Those both obviously work to your favor because you have a lead blocking TE taking out the significance of that play in the blitzing OLB. The slam is more like an offtackle which usually hurts MO in my experience when playing really good running teams.

I don't really get the issue with middle overload here. We ran up the middle all game, they ran a play to defend inside runs all game, and we still scored 21 offensive points and averaged 4.8 ypr. What more do you want?
