too bad it don't fire like on an island eh lol

good to see Glasgow getting back to form after retooling the roster from losing the original owner

I originally wanted all my WRs to take Prime Time to gold. I think a few of them actually listened. Need to sit down one day and do some math on the % of targets that end up as dive/jump/endzone catch attempts.

If I figure I can nullify the threat from showboat, then getting all my pass catchers to 50 receiving consistency with at least silver Prime Time could be dirty.

this is going to come out as super douchy, but are you guys sure it isn't CB build issues why you're having problems stopping the pass?

After today with Salty (gave up 22 of 47 for 237 yards while only having 7 sacks/4 hurries), I've allowed sub 50% completion to like 8 of my last 9 opponents.

Check the seasoned CB list:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/hof?season=4&type=def_data&position=CB&league_id=0&tier=Seasoned

And the sophomore CB list:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/hof?season=4&type=def_data&position=CB&league_id=0&tier=Sophomore

Notice who's at the top of both?

how many times have I said... your CBs get a ton of targets therefor they will be at the top... it doesn't mean they are good

this has been discussed at length before. CB is one of the few positions where HoF status doesn't reflect how good your player is

Fortinbras has been targeted 29 times.

Next guess?

theres no using logic with you is there?

your CB is way up because you are blitzing him (7 sacks, 11 hurries). It shows zlich how good he is at stopping passes thrown his way. In fact he's allowed 16 of 29 targets to be caught... that is mediocre at best

I have the #1 HoF FS in seasoned. Do i think he's the best FS in Seasoned? hell no.... but I use him a ton, and he sees a ton of tackles and targets in my system.

My guy in sophomore doesn't see much play at all. And you're right, I blitz him which is why I don't want him seeing much play at all so that he has fresh legs. But when he's out there, he knocks a decent number of passes away. So, he gets sacks, hurries QB's, has good PD's, and utterly breaks WR's when he hits them (silver monster hit on a CB is teh lulz).

And receptions allowed is every bit as meaningless as targeted. If my guys hadn't already had to play against Randal Cobb twice, if we didn't have to play DADDY and their two superstar WR's, if we didn't play game after game against top passing teams, I'm betting my guys would have a lot fewer receptions allowed.

Instead of looking at it from the defensive side where you really only get to see one possible defense, look at it from the offensive side of the top passing teams. The top passing seasoned teams are all over 400 yards per game on average. The toughest team you've played, Salty, averages less than 300.

You've played a bunch of run first teams in ladder and are in a run heavy league. Of course you're doing better against the pass than those of us stuck playing the Air Raids, Atlantic Citys, and such.

that's why I wasn't using yardage as a comparison, but completion percentage

Doesn't change the fact that a team built with WR's who can block can't catch as well as a team built with WR's who'd never risk getting their uniforms dirty, and that a team with a QB who mostly hands off, or sometimes runs himself, can't throw as well as QB's built to do nothing but throw.

Here's a good game for you to check out the box score on TDiddy:

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/game/66428

The opposing QB was held to 43.1% completions and still put up 400 yards.

They ran 85 plays and threw 65 passes. Of course they put up 400 yards of offense.

We didn't take you guys lightly at all with regards to planning for that game, nothing but respect to you and your team.

I think you meant 400 yards of passing.

Which is exactly the point I've been trying to make in response to his original suggestion it might be "our" CB builds allowing passing versus "his" CB builds that were doing really good against the pass.

My point is that "his" CB's aren't facing pass-first teams all the time like "ours" are. So ya, his experience with the pass game is going to be different.

Now, have him play your team a time or two, or Atlantic City, or Air Raid, or even Lost Lounge, and once he has a bunch of games like that under his belt, let's see if he's as a bit more open to the idea that the passing game has serious advantages over defenses.

The good thing about xav wanting to nerf the passing game is corndog will likely do the opposite.
