you don't need multiple coordinators/coaches/etc figuring out a gameplan

I've done everything by myself with HBurg without too much issue

I think most people here are spreading themselves too thin with being a part of a ton of teams, and not being able to really contribute as if just dealing with a team or two and spending more time there

I'll be honest - game planning for O and D for an entire season is wearing me out! Maybe you're faster than me at it. Maybe you're base knowledge is better so you can make better/quicker decisions -- but for me -- the pace is pretty brutal! I would certainly never say "without too much issue" because it definitely doesn't apply to me.

I can do defense for four teams comfortably.. More than that and I start sacrificing ladder games to win league games.

I could see how things would quickly become much faster under that scenario. Come up with some form of a 'base' -- watch a couple games...make a couple tweaks...go with it....and eventually come up with your own system.

I think running to offenses (or defenses) would be dramatically different than running 1 0 and 1 D (but maybe that is just highlighting some of my own flaws or issues.

I ran 4 o's and d's this season. Running offense is ridiculously easy. Defense is what has to be in constant change. Though I run most of it via iPhone.

I think the thing that helps the most in handling multiple teams is getting them all in the same vision. Except I didn't do that In fact, every team I DC for is doing something different (in Yorick's case, way different). The only O I coach is pretty easy as I've gotten things built so specifically there isn't much I can change game to game.

What actually helps the most with both time and success is that I don't micro my players. I tell them what I'm doing and why, what their role will be, and make suggestions on how to spend SP's and AP's. I trust them to actually handle the details. Just keep providing feedback and let them do their thing.

It means unless I'm doing a major defensive overhaul, I only have to spend time watching one or two replays of our next opponent and then 15 minutes or so making the tweaks to playbook and gameplan to match what I think they'll be doing.

It's less time consuming is you have a few base defenses or offenses and slight modify them according to who you play.

I can see that. Maybe I'm just insane....but I pretty much start from scratch every single game...even when I know it is going to be a blow out -- OCD?

I OC 1.5 teams and DC 2. All use some sort of base D that just changes only slightly depending on the other team.

I have been lazy this season though, as my O and D are the same ones as last season.

agreed... part of the reason I'm switching to running offense instead of defense on the wastelanders.... less time required

the most I can ever see myself being a part of is 3 teams... and that's if someone helped take the reigns for the bulldogs, and since I have trust issues... I don't see that happening

maybe it's just me, but I find myself having to gameplan and watch more film a ton more preparing my D for an offense... maybe it's because I've had to deal with such different teams in my league/ladder games (Zorp heavy pass, Hawaii heavy run, salty balanced and leaning run, atlantic city balanced and leaning pass).

My same basic offense hasn't changed much and I have moved the ball on just about everyone... my defense is what blows games (see Hawaii game earlier this season)

I feel like if my offense gets shut down, I'm just facing a team with better builds, since I am so balanced run/pass/outside/inside... where if my defense sucks, I gameplanned horribly, like blitzing a ton against Hawaii/Salty last game). If my offense was unbalanced, I think I would be easier to scout, but I believe I'm one of the rare 50/50 pass run teams.
