Welp, Lincoln officially will have a playoff team with a losing record. It was a near certainty when I made the original post, but at least mathematically possible to have a .500 team.

Yorick's and Denver officially clinched the playoffs and are still on track to play each other as the #1 and #4 seeds rendering their league game 2nd from last utterly meaningless. Again, theoretically one of those teams might lose to the inactive teams on their remaining schedule, but given the 66-0 drubbing Denver laid down, and the 91-14 roflstomp Yorick's ran, I wouldn't hold your breath.

I could certainly support (just like the NFL discusses every year) that playoffs should be re-seeded by record...

In which case - perhaps two teams from the same division end up as 1 & 3 or 1 & 4 seed.

That way all of the "win your league games" folks could still use their same argument....won your division and you are the 4 seed? should have won more games!

If everyone on the plant would suddenly stop caring about what Jampy says/thinks.....the world would be a better place.

Get a room so you two can continue your bro-mance in peace.

We're all proud of you Hayrow - you now have the most impressive defense in rookie history (sorry drake)

Three of the four teams I'm attached to have now clinched playoff spots greatly reducing the whole idea of every game of the regular season being meaningful, and that list includes Lost Lounge in the serious OP Oberon League, so it's not like my teams are beating up on weak leagues.

p.s. That fourth team is Jampy's. I pretty sure I don't need to explain further.

Oberon doesn't really matter how you slice it, the same teams are going to make it no matter what. The best 3 are split within the 3 divisions and the next set of teams are vying for the wildcard.

A league like Rhino on the other hand still has some excitement. All 3 divisions are still within reach for the second place team (tho pretty sure Jeb's should be alright in Beta) and the wild card race could get interesting between Chicago and OG.

Honestly going through most of the Seasoned leagues the divisions are spread out pretty well. Aside from Tiger I don't think there is much for anyone to complain about the playoffs.

I feel bad for Tampa Bay, They might be able to pull 1-2 upsets a game but in any other division they would have a legit chance. Not to win it all, but to compete.

I think what he's saying is that he feels bad for Tampa Bay because they enter every season with very little chance. This season they were 4-0 against Alpha, 2-2 against Beta, and 0-3 against Gamma. Their losses against Beta were 4 and 5 point losses. Against Alpha they were 5, 24, and 41. If you put Tampa Bay in Alpha, they would likely be a playoff team. In Beta they're in the hunt. In Gamma, ded.

Now, is making the playoffs uber important? Probably not. Winning the playoffs is. Put Tampa Bay in Alpha and they'd match up against the Beta winner in round 1. That game would be a pickem. Based on previous results Tampa Bay would struggle against any of the three Gamma teams in the final but with a good gameplan and some breaks and upset could happen.

Honestly, this is how I wish all leagues were. Balanced across divisions. I don't like the idea of three teams being "locks" every season but whatever.

We all have something to play for in Wolf League, with only Doinitin Djibouti clinching a playoff spot so far; the other 5 contenders competing for the 3 remaining places are:

9-2 Seattle Seahawks (#8)
9-2 Mr Men (#15)
8-3 Rocky Mountain Reapers (#18)
7-4 TT's Wolfpack of One (#28)
7-4 Doofenschmirtz Evil Incorporated (#57)

There's going to be at least one high ranked team that won't even make the playoffs.

Some leagues are stacked (like Tiger Gamma and Rhino Alpha) and others are just full of scrubs (like Eagle Gamma).
