Pretty hard to say they've had enough time to sort out the rankings when they are just getting to where we *think* they belong and haven't had any games there to really fine tune it, in my opinion.

I dont know anything about Tampa just yet so I'll use Providence as my rebuttal...they were average at best last season(no playoff ELO either) so IMO they had kinda of a self-inflicted wound of sorts to overcome. Even if they started with a base of 1200 last season do you think they would be significantly higher(Top 5) than they are now?

I don't know much about Providence, sadly. Unfortunately it's really hard to say, because the way the ladder works they'd be playing different people and such and so forth. If you want to base it just on the games they actually played...maybe. I'm not even sure that top 10 is all that far removed from top 5 right now; without seeing the numbers on the ratings it's hard to tell if there's a gap somewhere around 7th or 8th, but you can see how far a team drops now with just one loss. Those top 7 or 10 teams are all pretty close in rating right now. Half a k-value on Providence's rating might be all it takes to bump up to 8th; 1 or 2x kvalue might be enough for 5th. I don't think it's outrageous to say Providence is still a full kvalue off where it should be, but without knowing the numbers GLB actually used it's speculative.

Based on the things I can do on defense there, plus what he's doing on offense I can pretty comfortably say we're a team that will end up top 5 as long as there are no massive sim changes that break the team.

Pretty sure OG went from like 3rd to the low 20's back up to 8th this season.

I was pretty comfortable believing I wasn't going to have a problem finishing the season at #1. It's a completely different animal when you are facing top 10 teams every single ladder game.

Just looking at the first couple guys, your stats don't compare. Not for sure on down teh list though.

I can tell you this about Providence, we abhor centers. Honestly. I often lock them in a closet with a drunk and naked Ritchie Incognito for hours at a time.

well doing half the number of cakes isn't really better also as the sophmore made even more cakes so no way you'll get close there
