I have to say hands with a mix of technique and consistency a little heart doesn't hurt either that way after you drop 1 or 2 your receivers don't go in to total tank mode and drop a bunch more. The team my older QB is on started working heart up towards end of rookie and it was paying off in less drops as well. I also have a really fast WR in rookie right now 40 speed lower hands who hasn't had much of a problem catching the ball he has as many drops as my rookie wr on the same team with better hands and lower speed the biggest thing with speed that I can see is especially in rookie you end up outrunning the QB's arm strength at that level on the fly routes

2 things.

1. learn to punctuate.
2. why are you adding speed if your WRs are outrunning your QB ?

The single most important thing you need to do for building a WR is talk to your offensive coordinator.

Seriously.

I could give you lots of advice on building a WR, but if it doesn't match how your OC is going to use your guy, said advice is worthless.

build too round, not enough hands.

Which techniques would you take away from? And is the speed cap good enough?

I wouldn't have touched Route Elusiveness yet. It's not a huge deal, you'll need all that stuff eventually, but to start out with Hands, Rec Awareness, and CiT are your best friends. Speed cap should be fine.

For a slot WR, yes. You don't need much speed in the slot. Plus, with all those SPs you save by not getting speed up high, you can use for other things...like max out grip, hands, aware, CIT, balance, toughness, etc..

Thanks. Should I be starting out with slot machine as my SA or another?

Slot machine is fine as long as your team makes sure to use you as the WR3

And for the outside? Increase speed and which SA?

I disagree. you need some to reduce sacks

Speed is undervalued for WRs early on. You have to start with the catching abilites or your WR will be uselss, but you can go too far in that direction.
