could be build related for sure since the TE is not built to block. But can anyone confirm whether this play does this with a blocking TE too?

its a bug, stop talking about it, you have no experience with that play.

All flaming aside, what about this play(looking at the art) makes you think those lineman should block the other lineman? Their job is to pull, not to block the defensive line. In football if your job is to pull, you don't stay and block the man that is lined up across from you.

Assuming the art is correct that guy should have never even looked at the DE. I think on both of those plays they will have to change it so only the TEs are pulling. I don't think you would ever see a QB run like that where the entire side of an offensive line lets the DL go in free.

My bad, didn't see the handoff. Same thing though, I'm not for sure why those guys pulling in the first place.

EDIT: Looks like the guard is supposed to pull as well according to the play art, but he stays and blocks the DT.

So what is the point of the play then? To get the QB hurt?
B.S... when a linemen pulls, someone has to pick up the man that is left uncovered (Unless its a Trap play) then in that case they can run free for a few seconds before being popped.

Either its poor blocking pathing or a just a straight up bad play,
either way the play needs to be fixed.

It's a bad play. You'd never have the entire play side of the offensive line pull like that. That play getting blown up in the backfield is exactly what should happen.

I said the entire time that it was a bad play.

Fantastic you know its a bad play,
but that does not mean the block pathing of the OL is not buggy?
It doesn't have to be a bad play....

tbh you two both have no experience with these kind of plays, so if you could just leave this thread, it would probably help everyone.

Same thing happens on QB Rollout Rush Strong out of singleback trips.

At least give the QB a couple of ticks head start to get out ahead of the pulling linemen...

Why would you want the ball carrier ahead of the blockers?

So the pulling linemen have a chance to pick up the DL instead of just letting them barrel by for the TFL.

Giving the QB some sort of head start wouldn't change the outcome of that play, maybe giving the G a head start would. The issue is that the blocking is stupid. Even if the G could get to that block on the DE he's already 2-3 yards deep in the backfield, he's gonna disrupt the play no matter what. Either the TE needs to crash down while the G and T pull, or the T needs to stay home while the G and TE pull. Pulling the whole play side of the line like that doesn't make sense.

It's just a bad play design. The other option is to have the G chip the DE and then go out to block.
