Usain Bolt sorta proved this to us that taller sprinters (When they meet certain physical conditions) are better than the shorter tyson gay type builds...

I can also bet the same thing for CBs in the NFL, the Richard Sherman/Antonio Cromartie type builds will soon dominate the scene. Receivers are getting bigger and slower, and the benefits from a 6'2+ CB that can run a 4.5 or faster far outweight any of the benefits these 4.2 high and 4.3 shorties can bring.

Bigger and Slower? Not even close, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas all run a sub 4.4 40.

Look at the evolution of the te position. Greg Olson, martellus bennet, Vernon Davis. These guys are all being drafted for speed.

If you're 6'6 and a great athlete someone will draft you and teach you to be a TE like Gates, Graham, Julius Thomas

Gates is a blob. The game has passed him by.

This is a good question. You could say the WR knows the route and the CB doesn't but that really isn't logical on underthrown balls.

Ehhh. Gates is still better than most te's in the league. He certainly has become irrelevant though

I didn't have super speed, so I couldn't dust anyone, but me being slippery helped me shake a few tackles.

Getting to blindside LB's on counters was the best.

Defensive backs always sounded awful to me...spending all of your time running around the field chasing after people just to get a chance to hit them. Bleh.

i guess it all depends on what you enjoy doing. i was lucky enough to have coaches that let me kinda free roam as SS and then i got to be the random dude who did a loop behind a group of blockers on punt returns that would blind side at least one kid.

blind sides are fun as hell but sometimes it took some of the kids out of the game which now that i look back on wasnt the best idea.

there is nothing more fun than reading a sweep and getting a full sprint at the HB. safety was a lot of fun and so was outside LB. my entire 5th season in highschool was just to blitz. i guess since i never played offense, i dont understand the enjoyment of being on that side of the ball

By far the most fun element of football was onside kicks. We had a group of 3 guys that had 2 jobs. 2 guys lay the fuck out of anyone near the football and the other guy goes for nothing but the football. There is nothing more fun than legally laying someone out who is looking for a the football in the air.
