TBH if your offense isn't putting up 40 to 50~ average points a game you are doing something very wrong. There are way too many bad teams in this game to not be able to score efficiently.

Unless you are playing some weird kind of possession scheme where you take TE's over WR's and run 90% of the time to run clock but make first downs, but I think this is still just theory at this point.

this is the dumbest thing i have ever read.

my offense puts up 400+ yards consistently. slowly moving the ball. usually hold opponents to very low scores and we win. a couple of lucky late TDs have cost me when our team is dead tired.

scoring 21 is more than enough to win the game but you have to have control of possession too.

forgot to mention i dont score a whole lot of points, just slowly march down the field.

who is scoring 40 or 50 a game on average? Because I haven't seen it yet.

Okay the thing is that 85% of the teams in GLB are garbage.

400 yards and three touchdowns or so is great when you are playing a top 20 team and can win you a game, but if you cannot consistently score better than that against average competition (aka likely 98% of your league, and most of your ladder games until you are a top 15 or 25 team and start playing the same group more often)

What happens when your "slowly moving the ball offense" actually plays a real defense and gets sacked 21 times in a game?

This doesn't happen to good teams because they are up 45 points by the fourth quarter anyway when they are playing average competition.

You should send Zorp a scrim for science

ZMW is 3 and 1 averaging 43~ odd points over the three wins in Soph. Zorp doing it big in Rookie demolishing noobs with an even better margin.

Just check the ladder, Djibouti averages 40 points... Snails average 30~ (closer to 50 if they werent playing top 5 ladder games which is the point), Seahawks average 40~ outside of their top 5 ladder games (hey look, more evidence...)

The game where you actually play some 'competition' and the score drops is not the norm. The norm is that you play some average joe's team of scrubs, and if you are eeking wins out and crossing your fingers you don't lose in the 4th quarter against an average joe team...

Newsflash, you are an average team.

You really need to work on your reading comprehension, and probably your math skills. Did you miss the part where I said 85% of GLB is scrubs?

Four 40 point games and a 14 pointer is still a 35~ average you know.

I'm curious as to whether you are just choosing to ignore the trend of good teams scoring large point volumes on average (especially in their league games where competition is most likely to be average as it is not adjusted to their skill level) or if it's really flying over your head.

Like I said, most of GLB is not "good" at the game. There are 15 sophmore leagues and maybe 30 to 40 teams in those leagues who are really "good teams". The number of times you are getting matched up with a "good team" in your league is very small. The same is true for the ladder until you climb to the 50~ range.

If you are having problems scoring points against the average team in your league, there is a high likelihood you will struggle heavily to score against a "good team'. Teams who score 50 points a game beat a "good team" scoring 14 or 21. Teams who score 21 points a game....

Yep...one of my LBs is on this team and we have given up 12 points in 5 league/ladder games this season. But our record is 3-2..lol.

Not always. They do what they do, some are better than others. I'm breaking run blocks with my coverage CBs because the opportunity cost of neglecting to do so is pretty big. Really helps with the outside runs when the CB can force the long throw. Then on 3rd and long, you can force the punts more often than you could on third and short.

What he is saying is if you can't beat scrubs mercilessly, then when you play the "competition" that I quote so often, that you will not have a good time. It makes sense and pretty much dictates the trend in the game atm... you would be lying if you were to say it wasn't true.

Don't know what kinda league you're in, but please sign me up!
Teams that run outside the T on 1st and 2nd down and then throw long on 3rd? Sounds like REAL easy money.

Right but I occasionally care about the actual game and spend the majority of my time poking you with a stick...this is like your life and you're 2-3 lol. What's with the hat in your prof, did you smoke once on your 15th bday little kid?

Basically...What's your excuse? You're awful at the only thing you do, and the thing you claim to be amazing at

"Best team in GLB" 2-3, ladies and gentlemen
