Completely agree. There were actually a couple decent teams demoted on each side.

I sit on the fence about this coz it also helps to getting rid of the dead wood in PWG that didn't go anywhere as the only teams that they were beating to make the cut each season were each other and CPU teams!

Well this is true, but a lot of us have shown improvement. There were at least 4 or 5 good teams that got demoted. I mean we've really improved for example: http://glb.warriorgeneral.com/game/team.pl?team_id=7778

S36: 4-12
S37: 16-0 (2-1) PWS2
S38: 8-8

That doesn't seem competitive at all.


Meanwhile in Gold, there are CPU teams and teams losing in the 2nd round of Silver to pretty meh human teams

I'm on the fence leaning toward the 16 side. It gives the mediocre teams something to play for. You can't just coast and beat 4 CPU teams and one other bad team anymore and get to keep your spot. An early season loss may mean a lot more now. Every other season those teams will cycle back through. For the PW elite I doubt if most of the demoted teams are much tougher for them than CPU teams. I'm not saying all of them but I doubt if much sleep is being lost and those teams are looked upon like bye weeks regardless.

An outgoing/ incoming tournament would be interesting.
