I think they're fine. Some games they do good and others they don't. You don't have guys with 50 yard runs every play. It's realistic. When we get to higher levels and our backs even out more it will look a lot better for the running game

Do you take long runs out of the score because they are outliers? The fact that on 43 rushing attempts, two of them went for long scores. Of the four rushing TDs that game, 2 were long, 2 were 2 yards.

Outliers or not, they happened twice in one game.

Ok, good luck maintaining 6.2 yards per carry.

The use of YPC was to show that he didn't need 100 rushes to snap off 200 yards like people think in this game. You don't look at AP's game and go well shit if he didn't roll off that huge 80 yard TD run he would only be averaging 2 ypc.

It is only going to get easier as my o-line continues to specialize in run blocking, my FB and TEs get better at picking up blocks, and my HBs improve their sprinting, quickness, balance, intimidation, power rushing, elusive rushing, carrying awareness, and footwork. The blockers will open up huge lanes and the backs will be better at hitting them, hitting them with speed, making defenders miss, and finding daylight.

On the bright side it isn't run Big I and GL over and over and over and sooner or later you are gonna score a TD regardless of what the defense does because total randomness.

Because defenders are going to be stuck in rookie or not spend skill points?

Averaging 5 YPC in league games and 5.9 YPC in ladder games.

Averaging 4.3 YPC in league games and only 2.3 YPC in ladder games.

Sure, there are occasional big runs scattered in but there are also several runs of negative or 0 yards. That's why its called an average.

That will come though. As teams that specialize in the pass continue to dominate, there will be an arms race in pass defending. CBs will max out sprinting, quickness, man coverage, coverage tech, deflecting, etc. LBers will have a bit more balance, but when you have someone with 70 power run blocking meeting a LBer with 30 Hold Ground, it won't matter that some of them are built to stop the run: they can't be on both sides of the line at the same time. Meanwhile, a reliable passing game will prevent teams from being able to 100% stack against the run.

I'm just getting people ready so that when running the ball becomes super powerful, they won't say that I never warned them. I've seen the running game on the test server, I know busting long runs isn't just going to happen once every couple of games.

yeah, but you're also being a huge SI. so i'm not sure this is a net win here.

I don't know what "being a huge SI" means, but I assume you aren't suggesting I run the Strong I slam a lot.

I dunno...the run game was never that ridiculous. I think you are overplaying a full run block team imo.
