Huge problem being that the minor leagues will be gutted out when GLB 2.0 goes live. Regardless of whether agents funnel back here it won't matter because that is a year and a half down the drain.

You can't say this with utmost certainty without even experiencing the new one.
And I agree with bhall... competition won't exist here once 2.0 goes live (it's already dwindling as is). I don't care if lessens the demand and/or intelligence requirement to play the game at a higher level... if there's more competition, I'm all for it. It's pretty much a 32 fucking day snoozefest up here for a chance to win 4 games in a row.
If you like this mode of building... by all means, keep doing it. I'd rather experience a new challenge than maintain the status quo of build and wait for that once a month & a half 4 game win streak. I'd rather be somewhat lost and start with new challenges and silly run in place sprites.
as long as GLB1 can field 32 competitive teams a season, i will spend most of my flex here.
i will obviously build players in the new game, and i will give it a good long look. but once i unlock my SSDE, SSLB and SSCB i will just keep those 3.

I'm just not feeling mmo football anymore. I was loving the idea of Baseball or Hockey or even MMA.

Yeah rehashing the same game is meh imo, and splitting the user base is making me think there's no reason at all to put any more money into either. So I for one will not be spending another cent on either.

It's only splitting the user base because you guys somehow are clinging for nostalgia...
It's lost its luster for a lot of us... and we stay here for the relationships and such. I pretty much just log on, train, and go to the forums these days. I don't scout, don't adjust my AI's, etc. I'd love for something to get my attention...
and who knows, maybe it's simplified and stupid, but at this point... the only challenge I have left from a build perspective is a true dual threat QB. I've done everything else and had fun doing it. I would love to try something with a more focused team building/identity approach that 2.0 offers...

It's not nostalgia. Contrary to what you and others may think, some of us actually enjoy the game we are currently playing (GLB1). I know that is shocking to some, but its true.....and the things we enjoy about this game do not appear to be as well represented in GLB 2 Alpha based on the reports of testers. Perhaps that will change....it is Alpha after all. However, if the testers are all just fanbois that are not open to honest critiques of the game, I have no faith that it will.

i understand boredom if you have won WL but if you haven't i would think you will still have the hunger to try to win unless you feel you don't have a chance cause those in your way are too good.
I have won a bunch of WL titles and i want to win more. I must admit reg season can be boring but playoffs get interesting.

haven't read the whole thread ..
but for all you folks that prefer GLB1 you need to pray 2 works or this house of cards is crashing. whether 2 is a game you want to play or not is half relevant - it needs to be a game that can be marketed outside of us still around. if this works, we probably see that baseball sim. if it doesn't .. well it was a pretty good 5 years i think.
imo tbh ftw
