I was going back and forth on my offensive game plan as it turned out I chose the wrong one (even though it would not have changed the outcome of the game). But I'm sure the S17 casacade surly goats have something to say about this. I think they averaged 70 points during the playoff. Also S15 SBWL had a great team. But yeah in our defense we are the first one to win 3 major competition (Gold, Addicts, Official tourney-- before it was gold, ftw, official tourney) so I guess we do belong in that group. Our guys worked hard, they deserve it!
You guys had a great season as well. It's too bad that you won't be getting the runner-up trophy for addicts. Some can argue that it was more competitive than the official tournament itself. It's not like they are giving us prize money, at least let us transfer the trophies when teams are merging, at least the ones that you won this season.
Good luck next season with 85 Bears. Need couple of more days to think about this but I'm very likely going to retire as a coordinator. Won gold twice in a row as a coordinator, and I don't think we can top what we did this season. I'm not touching the AI ever, this is it. Instead I'm going to mentor guys and open my own school and help the guys that appreciated my work and supported me all the way. (you know who you are
) Maine will have a new head coach in charge by next season.
We were very fortunate to bring in the eagle for BNI who is extremely talented and very knowledgeable guy. Just have to bring
in a similar guy.
All in all, I really liked this season's sim. It was probably the most balanced sim in PW ever, since almost every play in the playbook worked. I called just about everything with Maine and in fact in the final game, I called the least popular plays just to keep things off balanced. Yeah there were some couple of overpowered plays but I ended up at worst containing them. Can't lie it was irritating as hell but later this became an advantage since we were one of the very few teams that were able to stop it.
Only problem I had was with DPC where it didn't let me adjust the d-line alignment. I have difficulties pressing the update button even if there is like a half a dot or even a quarter of a dot misadjustments. It was pain watching that ugly d-line alignment lol all season long. But nerfing the run game was a great move by Bort or else with the old sim some run game plays would have been unstoppable.
