Anyone know what Valhalla's effective levels were? HHWC is currently 1171.35. Might shed some light on this weaker competition vs more domination argument.
was that around back then?
Yeah, I remember when effective levels were introduced, someone commented that they weren't surprised that Valhalla and maybe MOD or Hali or Blaze were at the top. I just don't remember what the actual value was.

Val then MoD Then when Blaze came, Val, Blaze then MoD
Yeah remember when 1000+ APV was WL elite? APV has been climbing pretty steadily every season since it was introduced. Loss of huge ALGs for certain positions will probably drag those down eventually.
Alloy did a lot more gameplanning than people think in the playoffs...im talking hours, lots of them and he DID coast in the regular season, but he would scout almost every team and make a game thread explaining some changes he would do..so it isnt like he just left the same plan in waiting to get beat, and what I loved about him is he would trust everybody..he would explain his rationale and explain his gameplan to the entire team in great detail. He didnt have some dumb private forum that everyone has, including myself back in the day. I thought that was pretty cool and made for a great environment and attracted recruits. I don't know of any teams that do this.
as far as this argument..like in any sports thing..and glb especially because of the drastic changes, you cant really compare eras

Wasn't that brave imo. Not like it matters if we knew exactly what he was going to do as no one could stop yorke anyways

The centers will drop, and the DTs and Gs. QBs and a lot of other positions have better ALGs now though. When season 12 and season 14 dots are in both plateau (or maybe the season after), that will probably be the peak of ALGs, because there will be non-archetyped interior linemen and fully-developed archetypes on the skill positions.
