Regardless of the situation, the WL should have different scheduling compared to the rest of GLB. I mean the promotion / demotion already works entirely different than any other league I don't see why the scheduling can't go that same route.

Yeah, that would be cool.

i'm pretty skeptical that they'd change anything, but season after season there are bubble teams who demote who are better than promoting teams... and i dont want to sound like i'm talking about 2 time demoters ESL... those guys blow.

i do think though it should be alittle tougher to get up here. one fluke game in the playoffs and a completely unprepared team can end up here with an 1-15 season ahead of them. the only thing less fun than a 16-0 pro season is an 0-16 WL season.

I think the tiebreaker system should at least consider conference record as the first tiebreaker after head-to-head. I haven't paid attention to if it's changed lately, but it didn't used to.

Why is that such a bad thing to have unprepared teams get here? Yes, the idea of World League is to be the top of the ladder. But, like any sporting contest, upsets happen. Doormats happen. No matter what system you come up with there are going to be Pro teams that are better than some World League teams. There are a few ways to make it tougher to get here: 1. Have fewer Pro leagues, 2. Promote fewer teams per league (i.e. 1 instead of 2), 3. Have more good Pro teams. In terms of the simple goal of making it tougher to get here, I think #2 makes the most sense. But then you're down to 8 teams relegating... are we really to believe the top 24 World League teams belong as returners? Also, given that the Pro league title games are as apt to have an upset as any other game, if you did that I think you increase the chance that some of the best teams in Pro fail to promote. I think #1 appeals to a lot of people, but I can't say I have any idea how Bort might feel about dropping a region. The ironic thing about #3 is that if you did have more good Pro teams (keeping the weaker teams down), then you potentially have more WL-worthy teams that aren't actually in the WL.

I mean, with both CPL teams going 0-20 perhaps it's time to revisit the condensing pro leagues conversation again. Even OPL wins at least a game or two every season with their new teams
