WEEK 2 - LION
1 Carthaginian War Elephants (2-0) - A week after they won a game despite their glaring turnovers CWE turns the tables on Franchise through turnovers. 3 INTs and 4 fumbles kept them ahead of Franchise even though their defense yielded 672 yards.
2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (2-0) - The Hellfish stifled the Bulldawgs for the entire game as their defense played a lights out game and their offense racked up 709 total yards any way they pleased.
3 Wallachia Wamphyri (2-0) - A dominating win by the Wamphyri. They made Zambezi's passing game a non-factor while completely shutting down the running game as well. Their returner scored 4 TDs and their HB Screwed & QB Maxiumus took over the game on offense for 7 combined TDs through the ground and air.
4 Cagliari Outbreak (2-0) - What an offensive showcase from both teams. Giving up 66 points is usually a recipe for disaster and the game tied up at 45 going into the 2nd half. The Outbreak managed to shut down Kenya in the 3rd Q and that would help lead them to an enormous victory. Not to mention the 49 point eruption in the 4th Q.
5 Franchise (1-1) - A rough 2nd quarter put the Franchise in a deep 38-17 hole. They managed to hold CWE to 7 points in the second half but with the damage already done their comeback effort fell 1 point short. They've fallen down the rankings but I think that will just be a temporary drop once they hit their stride.
6 Massawa Redhorns (2-0) - A huge 2nd Q gave the Redhorns an 8 point lead going into the 2nd half. They struggled a little in the 2nd half though and just squeezed out a win thanks in part to a 4th quarter Safety that would give them the 2 point victory.
7 San Francisco Demons (1-1) - The Demons fell behind 38-20 with time running down in the 3rd Q. They managed to mount one hell of a comeback attempt that fell just short.
8 IRONTON TANKS (1-1) - The Tanks went through a big defensive battle for most of the game. Luckily, the only 2 TDs scored in this game were for Ironton and they managed to fall on the right side of this defensive battle with a stellar game plan that stifled Sahara for 4 quarters.
9 Sahara Storm (1-1) - Sahara struggled to get any offense in this one as they only mustered up 112 total yards.
10 Sun City Undertakers (1-1) - A great win for the Undertakers as they took an early lead but still had to mount a comeback for the win with the 4th quarter winding down.
11 West Yorkshire Bandits (1-1) - The Bandits fell behind 21-7 going into the 2nd half. They managed to take a 1 point lead in the 4th and for awhile it was reminiscent of their week 1 win over the Tigers. But this time they couldn't hold that slight edge as Sun City went on to score the winning TD with little over 4 minutes remaining.
12 LHC Naked Turtles (1-1) - The Turtles came away with a victory in a game that was anyone's to win with the 4th Q winding down.
13 Kenya Diggits (0-2) - Kenya is still lacking a strong running game to go along with what is turning into a very solid pass attack. They were in the game through the first half before falling behind too much to mount a comeback in the 2nd half. 5 turnovers did not help their cause either.
14 Uganda Silverbacks (0-2) - Uganda falls to 0-2 after battling it out with LHC. They fell behind 7-10 at the end of the 1st half and from there the game went back and forth until Uganda tied it up with under 4 minutes remaining in the 3rd Q. The Silverbacks couldn't get any points on the board in the 4th though and LHC went on to win.
15 Zambezi Silverbacks (0-2) - Zambezi couldn't muster any offense or make any defensive stops as Wallachia piled on the points through 4 quarters.
16 Sterling Bulldawgs (0-2) - A week after a heartbreaking loss, Sterling looked like they didn't know what they were doing out on the field. They struggled to move the ball and defensively could not stop Fulham from marching up and down the field. It's still early for all these 0-2 teams but they all need to get it turned around quickly if they want to make any kind of push for a playoff spot.
WEEK 2 - ELEPHANT
1 Nairobi Warthogs (2-0) - Another dominating win for the Warthogs.
2 Sons of Anubis (2-0) - Any team that can make Zimbabwe look mortal is down right scary in my book. Just all around dominating.
3 The Dead Presidents (2-0) - Two impressive wins in a row. That's the TDP I remember from a few seasons ago.
4 Guyana Generalissimo's (1-1) - After an impressive start GG fell flat as they struggled to mount any offense against TDP.
5 Zimbabwe Rebels (1-1) - After a spectacular 21 game win streak, Zimbabwe gets a taste of the defeat that has long eluded them.
6 The African Predators (2-0) - Tied up at 3 going into the 2nd half, TAP unleashed on the Texans for 35 unanswered points.
7 Windhoek White Rhinos (1-1) - Big win for the Rhinos as they jumped all over ABD through 3 quarters to take a 38-0 lead.
8 Black Sea Sunami (1-1) - A slow start until BSS took over the game in the 2nd Q and never looked back.
9 The Black Hand (0-2) - The schedule has not been kind to TBH yet as they've faced off against two of the top teams in APL so far.
10 Ivory Coast Breakers (1-1) - Hell of a way to bounce back from their week 1 loss.
11 Angola Blood Diamonds (1-1) - If a game could be won on the strength of one quarter than ABD would notch one up from that 13-0 4th quarter attempt. Unfortunately, WWR outscored them 38-0 through the first 3 quarters.
12 Kickin Djibouti (0-2) - Another tough loss for Kickin as they struggled to put up points and fell behind early.
13 Wrightstown Tigers (0-2) - A huge loss for the Tigers has them reeling. They've got a lot of tough games coming so they need to find a way to get back on track.
14 MaRAWK!!o Evil Aces (1-1) - The Aces still struggled on offense but managed to score the games only TD that would give them the win.
15 Darfur Depopulators (0-2) - Darfur fought a tough contest and held a 2 point lead until MEA hit the winning FG with 27 seconds remaining.
16 Ron's Texans (0-2) - The Texans have put up 6 points combined through 2 games and with GG and the Warthogs in the next 3 weeks things don't look to improve anytime soon.
