I didn't read or find the thread on this, but why did bort do this? I can't see the reason for the whine? Everyone knew that lvl 72 was technically possible didn't they? Even if we didn't know about free eq back then, everyone wanted the most possible lvls gained for more sp to make better players. Can't understand why this was a necessary change.

Easy to explain, until S9 when the decline was discussed and added, no one knew what the cut off date would be so punishing people for building before Bort decided on a set build date is kind of stupid. That's where it all originated, it's not really fair to punish people because they guessed wrong on what day Bort would cut off at. Also, no one knew that they could get L72 eq.(no team could afford it back then) so again, they assumed they couldn't. When all these changes were made, it made L72 eq. possible and L72 eq. makes a huge difference.

shit, i've guessed wrong on bort decisions more times than i can count. should i go back and ask for reparations for all those wrong guesses?

This was the closed thing to an argument against it, not really a legitimate argument on why not to do something that is good for the game.

If you boost at the END of your FIRST season that's not really SSBing...

lol this. And lol @ people arguing this level 72 equips weren't affordable bullshit, Saigon would have had enough for at least our AE's and besides that, who wouldn't want to gain as many levels as possible. Even without being able to afford level 72 equips, I'd rather be level 72 with 64's than a level 68....

Obviously because when people built on certain days, they were thinking about what level they would hit BEFORE the decline and end game existed.

It's SSB, just not an extreme case.

It was always stated decline would probably be at 10 seasons tbh.

Boosting at the END of your first season is not the norm

Playing 0 games the whole first season of your career is not the norm.

I don't recall that, the glove doesn't fit.

EDIT: If the decline was at S10 and you had to stop boosting, no one would have reached L72.(except for a select few XP exploiters)

not really if you are trying to make your player gain levels slowed so that you can take advantage of training.

for instance, my HB is lvl 68. created S5 D7 I just let him sit that first season and did not boost him. had i boosted his first season he would have hit 71 and been allowed to boost to 72

The number of seasons is totally irrelevant. It's the 440 cut off date. The difference between day 39 creation and day 40 of the SAME season is three extra boosts.
