If you get in good dots, I really don't think taking a huge chem hit is that harmful at all....Look at Val last ssn. w_s forgot to renew contracts, loses the entire team, resigns them over the entire off ssn (instead of doing it in 1 shot to max chem return) and goes on to win 20 of 20. D9 had horribly bad chem the 1st 2 ssns here and far from great this past ssn (though much better than the 2 before) and it didn't kill us. I think it does hurt, but not anywhere near as much as most ppl fear it does, unless your team isn't very good to start with. That's when I think it really hurts, taking you from "we got a chance if things break right in this game" to "we lost before the game started" mode.

No...Testers don't test anything unless there is a specific issue or something is being changed. Catch tests some stuff on his own, but I don't think he has ever tested chem.

I can tell you though, since one of my test teams had 70ish chem and the other 100, all builds equal, that the 70ish chem team wasn't quite as good as the 100 team, but only about a win 6 of 10 instead of 5 of 10 split. That's more of a feeling than a true test, though. Each team ran different tactics for testing purposes most times. So, it wasn't a legit test, or meant to show anything about chem

Every test game is auto logged to there. I ran the last test game, nearly a month ago, and that was because someone believed that there was a bug with the D dots not being able to cover WRs in the backfield (a issue in the pee wees, where dots had 10ish speed).

If I'm you guys and I'm going to get bent about anything, I'd be getting bent at nothing being tested, besides the training system.

Hell, no one has tested shit besides Catch since 4/1....It's not that the testers wouldn't, either. Outside of DB and I, everyone else has to be specifically asked to run a specific test by Bort or Catch before they can. DB and I can test what we see as an issue, but we were told that no major sim changes would occur this ssn, because of the training, financial and coaching stuff. That was in response to a list of things I posted that I thought needed attention before last pressn ended. Since that included things like pass coverage, QB targeting/logic, run game stuff, pathing....it p much took out anything worth testing in one slice.

I won't BS you. There are some advantages to testing. Sure, everything about training is written out in a post by Catch, but it doesn't hurt anything to see it as you test to make sure it works. The advantages are found in stuff like that. However, the idea that ppl are testing things for their or their teams' benefit died when Catch took over the testers. I pushed him on it, because 1 tester was doing that and that was BS, but I'm 99.999% sure that Catch would have killed the ability to pimp the system even if I had never existed. It was one of the things he told me he was going to do the day they announced his hiring as Admin

Seriously, if anyone wants to get bent about what goes on there, they should be getting bent about not enough happening there.

All I can say to this is that certain teams knew about Spin for WR's well before anyone else did...Not saying you knew, but I would say there were some testers out there that had some inside info well before the general public did. I agree 100% about testing overall, and the fact other things might be getting less attention know that these new changes are going in. I have always felt that the game is based purely on reaction and never really any proactive steps to really following a true project plan.

i stumbled upon spin+WRs in S14 since it turned my shitty possession receiver into a viable YAC option w/ all the correct stacks. S15 rolls around and Spin gets a boost, ppl whine and Spin gets the nerf hammer for S16. FFUUUUUU.

I'm not whining about anything, you might have stumbled onto something but my point is that the general consensus is that testers have had the inside track for information well before the general public. If that is whining, you should have heard me after your game against Nairobi where you were exposed as a stumbling OC...
