+there is a lot of other forum reading to catch up on right now and a lot of planning that needs to change or new plans to be developed due to the changes.

I'm in the other conference, and I still find this reads excellent and fun.

WEEK 8 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
#1 Kenya Diggits (8-0) - So I anticipated a close game against Nile and I was 100% correct... for most of 3 quarters. Then Kenya exploded on Nile and put up 38 points over the course of 20 minutes. A 12-0 start is a guarantee at this point and it's looking like Kenya has a clear path to the #1 seed at this point.

#2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (6-2) - The Hellfish move up through process of elimination. Cookie cutter schedule for 3 more weeks guarantees them a 9-2 start before it toughens up again.

#3 West Yorkshire Bandits (7-1) - After walking over the Zoners they have a stiff challenge ahead of them. Road trip to Nairobi. They squeaked out a 4 point win last season but can they improve on that this week. The Bandits have a fairly tough schedule remaining after that too. Fulham, Kenya & Nile will give them grief from week 12-14. The only thing keeping them at #3 is their fairly light schedule to date.

#4 Nile Crocodiles (6-2) - Two tough back to back losses for the Crocs. A loss would be one thing but the enormous disparity in the scoreboard has to make one wonder if this is just a rough patch or if Nile was ranked to highly due to their early schedule. This has moved them down the rankings a few spots in my book. Highly considered putting NDS above them too but it's too early to think the Crocs can't turn it around. Regardless, they should bounce back this week and can pretty much coast for 5 weeks so an 11-2 start is in their grasp.

The Muddled Middle
#5 Nairobi Death Squad (6-2) - Back to business for the Squad now that their vacation is over. They'll have their hands full with the Bandits & then they face Sterling so next 2 weeks will go far in terms of potential seeding.

#6 Sterling Bulldawgs (6-2) - They'll face a struggling Colonial team this week before hosting Nairobi. The Dawgs have it fairly easy for a few weeks with only NDS being a tough draw. But their last month of games has them facing Fulham, Kenya & Nile. That could make or break their season.

#7 Colonial Zoners (4-4) - The Zoners fell flat against the Bandits and will have to contend with Sterling this week. With NDS & Fulham in the closing month it's starting to look like the best the Zoners can hope for is a 9-7 finish.

#8 Zimbabwe Bulls (5-3) - Rapidly sinking.

Outsiders Looking In
#9 Burundi Bucsh Warriors (3-5) - Burundi put an end to their 4 game losing streak. Unfortunately, Nile is hosting them in what is sure to be a loss. But after that the rest of their schedule should be a breeze with only Colonial & NDS causing them problems.

#10 West Nile Mosquitoes (3-5) - Back to back wins for the first time this season. Three losses are staring them in the face though with Fulham, Kenya & Nile up next.

Nowhere Close
#11 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (2-6) - Win.

#12 Lyon Flames (2-6) - Blowout loss.

#13 Longreach Wildcats (2-6) - Blowout loss.

#14 Algeria Dune Hoppers (1-7) - Blowout loss.

#15 Hungry Hungry Hippos (0-8) - Another loss.

#16 Patagonia Punishers (0-8) - Blowout loss.

Nice analysis again E! Thanks for keeping it up on these. I'm sure everyone will agree with me that the rest of these can probably just ignore the bottom 7 teams entirely.

In other news, Kenya has locked up the #1 seed unless West Yorkshire beats #1, #2, #4 and #5 in the second half, so the action now is on which of the other 4 top teams gets home games, and which Burundi or West Nile will snag the #8 seed.

Yeah it's pretty much a lock for Kenya already. Good for you guys a little disappointing for the rest of the teams I would guess. Zimbabwe will drop out of the top 8 before end of season so Colonial, Burundi & West Nile will be fighting for those last 2 spots. Most likely going to be Burundi & Colonial taking them.

Yeah, I don't think we will get either of the last two spots. My Mosquitos just don't have the guns to do it. We have some very tough games that are coming up. Oh well hopefully next year recruiting has a better outcome for my team.

Little bit late this week so these will be shorter than usual, if that's possible.

Week 9 Predictions
GAME OF THE WEEK

Nairobi vs West Yorkshire
The Bandits were one of my preseason favorites and, with limited games remaining that will help teams make moves in the rankings, this is a game they have to win if they want to stay in contention for a home playoff game.

Colonial vs Sterling
Zoners get zoned out.

Hungry vs Patagonia
There can only be one... team that finishes the season 0-16.

Longreach vs Alexandria
CPU battle for supremacy.

Zimbabwe vs Lyon
Bulls win.

Nile vs Burundi
Kenya vs Algeria
Fulham vs West Nile
Baby bye bye bye...

I'm picking Nairobi this week. IMO, they should probably be the 8-0 team if they'd gotten just a little bit of luck. They're due.

WEEK 9 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
#1 Kenya Diggits (9-0) - Kenya is coasting for the next few weeks. No big matchups until the Bandits come to town.

#2 Fulham Flying Hellfish (7-2) - Enjoying their vacation for a few more weeks. They face the Bandits in 3 weeks.

#3 Nile Crocodiles (7-2) - Another team on a long stretch of bye games. Crocs move up by elimination. The Crocs are only in jeopardy of dropping in the rankings due to lack of tough opposition with Nairobi breathing down their necks. They still have to face the Bandits and Bulldawgs late in the season though so nothing is guaranteed as far as a top 4 playoff seed.

#4 Nairobi Death Squad (7-2) - Great win for the Death Squad as they showed off what made them so dangerous last season. A win over Sterling next week puts them in the driver seat for the #2 seed since they have no tough teams left on their schedule.

The Muddled Middle
#5 West Yorkshire Bandits (7-2) - Tough loss for the Bandits. The offense couldn't get any points on the board. Turnovers killed any momentum they built up and three missed field goals didn't help their cause. They'll coast through the next 2 weeks so they have plenty of time to make corrections.

#6 Sterling Bulldawgs (7-2) - Sterling handled the Zoners as expected but things get tougher this week with Nairobi starting to surge. Big playoff seeding ramifications hang in this game for both teams.

#7 Colonial Zoners (4-5) - The Zoners were coasting as they went on a 4 game winning streak but that seems long ago now. Good news for Colonial is that they are about to hit what should be a 3 game win streak to put them back over .500. Bad news, they still have to face Nairobi and Fulham in the last month. Either way the worst they're looking at should be a 9-7 record and the #7 seed.

#8 Zimbabwe Bulls (6-3) - Big win over losing team keeps this team in contention. This week they face off against Burundi. Burundi MUST win this game or they face elimination from the playoffs. Can the Bulls make the playoffs with a CPU roster?

Outsiders Looking In
#9 Burundi Bucsh Warriors (3-6) - The Warriors have hit do or die time on their schedule. The rest of the schedule does not include a single playoff caliber team and they should only have a tough game against the Zoners. That game will have seeding ramifications for both teams but they will most likely make up the 7th & 8th seeds.

#10 West Nile Mosquitoes (3-6) - Tough stretch for West Nile but they can finish up with possibly a 7-9 record. Not bad considering where this team was when michiganfan took over this season.

Nowhere Close
#11 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (3-6) - A clear cut CPU champion is emerging.

#12 Lyon Flames (2-7) - Blowout loss.

#13 Longreach Wildcats (2-7) - Loss.

#14 Algeria Dune Hoppers (1-8) - Blowout loss.

#15 Hungry Hungry Hippos (1-8) - Proves to not be the worst team of the season.

#16 Patagonia Punishers (0-9) - 0fer16 in the works.

Week 10 Lion Predictions
GAME OF THE WEEK

Sterling vs Nairobi
Huge game for both teams that will shape the playoff seedings. Last season Nairobi got away with a 6 point victory and the Bulldawgs are hoping to reverse their fortunes this season. Sterling needs a win against a quality team to show they belong but Nairobi has just turned things up with a win over the Bandits. Nairobis defense could be the key to this game and I see them forcing turnovers and making the Dawgs offense have a miserable day.

Burundi vs Zimbabwe
Burundi needs this win or it's out of the playoffs for them.

Patagonia vs Longreach
The Punishers still seek that elusive 1st win.

Algeria vs Nile
West Nile vs Kenya
Alexandria vs Fulham
Lyon vs Colonial
West Yorkshire vs Hungry
Bye, bye, bye, bye, bye.

Week 10 Elephant Predictions
GAME OF THE WEEK

Inferno vs Flashdancing
Battle for the second seed this week. Flashdancing has been impressive this season but they still have a few tough teams on their schedule that could drop them in the standings. The Inferno will burn up any hope that the Platypi might have in chasing the #2 seed though. It's looking very clear that the only thing the Inferno have to worry about is facing TDP again.

Barcelona vs Toro
The Nation has just performed better against equal opponents. They should take the game by 10+ points.

Blacc's vs Venom
Hard to call this one but I'll take the Venom in a close contest.

Swine Flu vs Covington
Another tough one to call but Covington seems to have an edge in depth so I'm going with them this week.

TDP vs Zimbabwe
The Rebels appear to be a good team but this season has TDP written all over it.

Vereenging vs Nigerian
As close to a bye week as they're getting this season.

Mayotte vs P-Funk
Easy win for MMM.

Dogs vs Montreal
Bye week.

Once again, great in depth analysis. Good luck today, ecrana, to you and the Bulldogs. I expect the game to be within a FG either way.

Thanks for including the elephant conf in the predictions. I was hoping that our game against TDP would have been a lot closer.
