Yup. This next 3 game stretch will easily decide what seed we are in the playoffs.

Very nice write ups. I would like to note on CWMs behalf that I intentionally banged my head against the wall running right into the strength of Burundi. I think that up the middle against those guys is as tough as any team in the conference. Did not feel I would learn anything about my squad trying to attack weaknesses so chose the path of most resistance.

Defensively, we did take a bit of a beating by their monster HB Asher Lev, that dude needs to come over to our side. He is insane.

I loved that game, and it was a refreshing break from the schedule we are in the midst of.

WEEK 11 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
1 Somali Pirates (11-0) - A hellish 3 quarters saw Somali with a 1 point lead in the game against Nairobi. But then it broke wide open for Somali in the 4th Q as they outscored Nairobi 28-14. Very decisive win that keeps the Pirates at the top of the mountain for yet another week. Next game: Fulham

2 Sterling Bulldawgs (9-2) - The Bulldawgs came through with a huge win against the Aces by controlling the clock for 45 minutes. Not the best of showings offensively but a win is a win even if it's ugly. Another big one next week with Cybertron coming to town. Nile and Somali are the only tough games left afterwards but the Bulldawgs have the toughest schedule remaining schedule out of the current 2-4 seeds. A win here is a must if they intend to fight for the #2 seed. Next week: Cybertron

3 Cybertron War Machine (9-2) - I was torn with whether to put Nairobi or Cybertron at #3. On one hand Nairobi beat both Sterling and Cybertron. On the other hand I feel these 3 teams could play over and over and get different results every time. So in the end I went with records. Cybertron coasted to 9-2 this week but next up is a battle for #2 spot. With a pretty easy 4 game lineup to finish the season, only Nile has a winning record, this game is as big as it gets. A win here puts them in the drivers seat for the #2 seed Next game: Sterling

4 Nairobi Death Squad (8-3) - Tough loss against Somali finally drops Nairobi some in the rankings. The Squad kept it tight for 3 quarters before the Pirates claimed their booty. The good news for Nairobi? 5 easy games to finish the season out should give them a 13-3 record. With the other top seeded teams still having some tough games ahead that means Nairobi still has a shot at the #2 seed with what I believe to be the easiest schedule out of the top 4 teams. Next week: Carolina

Middle of the Road
5 West Yorkshire Bandits (7-4) - The Bandits are riding a 3 game win streak and will be 8-4 after the coming game. Their biggest problem is the storm riding in following the West Coast game. Nairobi, Fulham & Alexandria will make it hard for the Bandits to finish better than 9-7 so they have a lot of work to do in the coming weeks. Next game: West Coast

6 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (7-4) - The Aces suffer back to back losses for the first time this season with a shutout loss to Sterling so I've got to drop them a spot. With Somali and the Bandits remaining on the schedule they'll have to make sure they stack the deck in their favor. Next game: Hungry

7 Fulham Flying Hellfish (6-5) - Fulham follows up their upset win with a pretty lackluster win over the Hippos. Not taking anything away from the Hippos or Fulham but when you beat the Aces in that manner I start expecting more out of you . Hellfish still have 3 tough games remaining so they'll need to keep raising hell to stay on pace. Next week would be a great opportunity to follow up that upset win against the Aces by knocking off the undefeated Pirates. Next game: Somali

8 Nile Crocodiles (6-5) - Nile is stuck in a tight race for the last 3 playoff spots. With Sterling and Cybertron still on tap can Nile stay ahead of the pack? Next game: BURUNDI

9 BURUNDI BUCSH WARRIORS (6-5) - Big game against Nile up this week. Warriors need to do everything possible to win here since they still have Nairobi and Fulham to wrap up the season. Next game: Nile

10 Hungry Hungry Hippos (5-6) - It's safe to say that the Hippos won't be making the playoffs this season. A 6 win season is the more likely scenario. Next game: Alexandria

11 Algeria Dune Hoppers (4-7) - A shutout loss won't do much damage to their season at this point but there is still a shot of making .500 for this promising team. Next game: Saskatoon

12 Carolina Flying Tigers (4-7) - So Carolina won and Algeria lost but why isn't Carolina ahead of the Hoppers you ask? The easy answer would be that they haven't beaten a single good team this season. A better answer might be the fact that I'm too lazy to cut and paste them around since the Flying Tigers are about to have their wings clipped with a tough 5 game stretch to end the season. Next game: Nairobi

Bottom Four
13 West Nile Mosquitos (1-10) - zzzzzz...wuzzat??? oh yeah, HUGE game for West Nile as they try to pick up their second win when they face LHC. Next game: LHC

14 West Coast Rage (1-10) - Nothing to see here folks. Next game: West Yorkshire

15 Saskatoon Vulcanos (1-10) - Stat fest for the Dune Hoppers! Next game: Algeria

16 LHC Naked Turtles (0-11) - One has to wonder whether the new rules about demotions and resets has screwed with LHCs plans for the future. Next game: West Nile

Very nice.

My game of the week is Burundi v. Nile. Of course, I've got a vested interest But the winner of this game will almost certainly get into the playoffs and the loser will likely be left outside. Plus - the teams are vastly different in terms of roster but should match up pretty well. Lots riding on this one.

WEEK 12 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
1 Somali Pirates (12-0) - Jumping out to a 20-3 halftime lead helped the Pirates stay undefeated for another week. Can they do it again next week to keep their incredible season going perfectly? Next game: Alexandria

2 Sterling Bulldawgs (10-2) - Another big win for Sterling puts them in a good position to finish up the season strong. They walked away from the game with a 7 point win in part thanks to the 2 missed FGs by their kicker. The next 2 weeks should go fairly well for them before facing off against Somali. Next week: Hungry

3 Nairobi Death Squad (9-3) - After wiping the floor with Carolina, Nairobi gets a tougher matchup this week. This could be their last real challenge of the season and the Bandits would love to take this game and move up the standings. Next week: West Yorkshire

4 Cybertron War Machine (9-3) - A very close loss to Sterling sees Cybertron fall a spot to Nairobi since they lost to them earlier in the season. The War Machine played one hell of a game as they ran the ball more effectively than any other this team has against Sterling this season. Next game: LHC

Middle of the Road
5 West Yorkshire Bandits (8-4) - After an easy game the Bandits must prepare for a nightmare run the last month starting with Nairobi this week. Big chance for them to make a statement. Next game: Nairobi

6 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (8-4) - An easy win over the Hippos won't change much in the standings. Big showdown with Somali coming up though. Can they knock off the last undefeated team? Next game: Somali

7 BURUNDI BUCSH WARRIORS (7-5) - Very convincing win over Nile that saw the Warriors blow up in the 2nd Q 21 points and shut down the Crocs in the 2nd half. Next game: Algeria

8 Fulham Flying Hellfish (6-6) - The last game was like night and day when comparing the 1st and 2nd half. After watching the Pirates jump ahead 20-3 in the first half something changed with Fulham in the second half as they kept pace with the Pirates by scoring 21 points to their 24 points. This is one of those teams that is right around the corner from turning into a great team. Next game: Carolina

9 Nile Crocodiles (6-6) - A loss puts the Crocs in a precarious position heading into the closing stretch. They beat Fulham earlier in the season so they hold that tiebreaker BUT they have the tougher remaining schedule. They have to hope that Fulham only manages 1-2 wins in the next 4 weeks. Next game: West Nile

10 Algeria Dune Hoppers (5-7) - Big matchup against BURUNDI this week will show us what type of team Algeria really is at this point. A win here should net them an 8-8 record to finish up. Next game: BURUNDI

11 Hungry Hungry Hippos (5-7) - Their hellish schedule just won't seem to end with Sterling and Somali up next. Next game: Sterling

12 Carolina Flying Tigers (4-8) - Tough loss to Nairobi sends the Tigers off to face Fulham. It won't be pretty but it won't be as bad as the Nairobi game. Next game: Fulham

Bottom Four
13 West Nile Mosquitos (2-10) - Big win for West Nile. Maybe 1 win left in them this season but it won't be next week. Next game: Nile

14 West Coast Rage (1-11) - Could win #2 be around the corner? Next game: Saskatoon

15 Saskatoon Vulcanos (1-11) - Big chance to get win #2 next week. Next game: West Coast

16 LHC Naked Turtles (0-12) - 0-16 is in the cards for the Turtles. Next game: Cybertron

I haven't had a chance to watch the PBP yet but that sounds like a good stand to me

I think it's safe to say the top 6 spots are a safe bet to make the playoffs with BURUNDI, Nile and Fulham duking it out for the last 2 spots. Algeria has a very, very small chance of sneaking in too I think but it would take monumental failures from the other 3 teams for that to happen.

I've been watching games like that for a number of seasons now. It really does make the game a ton more interesting.

It is the only way to go, and in big games like the Somali game it can lead to some emotional outbreaks for sure.

WEEK 13 RANKINGS

The Fine Four
1 Somali Pirates (13-0) - Dominating seems to sum up the Pirates nowadays as they made quick work of the Aces and racked up over 500 yards rushing. There can't be much doubt now that this is THE team to beat in the playoffs. Next game: Hungry

2 Sterling Bulldawgs (11-2) - The Bulldawgs put up another solid win but the best news they could have gotten this week came when Nairobi fell to Bandits giving the Bulldawgs a little breathing room in the standings. Next week: LHC

3 Cybertron War Machine (10-3) - Cybertron gets set to face it's last 2 obstacles for the season with Nile up first. A game that the War Machine should take but Nile won't go down as easily as LHC. Next game: Nile

4 West Yorkshire Bandits (9-4) - I said this had to be a statement game for the Bandits and I'll be damned if they didn't make a big statement with a 4 point win over Nairobi. It wasn't a pretty win but this is football not a beauty pageant and a win is a win. Can they keep this going for 3 more games though? For now this win was enough to get them to crack the Fine Four for the first time this season. Next game: Fulham

Middle of the Road
5 Nairobi Death Squad (9-4) - A tough loss for the Squad. Nairobi won this game in just about every category except the one that counts most and that's the W column. They lost the turnover battle and that killed them in this one as the Bandits turned 2 picks into 14 points. One has to wonder if Nairobi has hit a slump after starting the season 7-1. They've gone 2-3 in the last five games and need to get back to their dominant ways soon or risk losing momentum heading into the playoffs. Next week: Saskatoon

6 Alexandria Crimson Evil Aces (8-5) - Things didn't look good for the Aces when Somali scored on an 80 yd run that was the first play of the game. The Aces were never able to recover from that start and fell hard to the Pirates. Next game: Carolina

7 BURUNDI BUCSH WARRIORS (8-5) - Hard fought victory over Algeria that saw BURUNDI jump out 19-3 before the end of the half. Neither team could get anything done in the second half though. Next game: West Coast

8 Fulham Flying Hellfish (7-6) - Just like the Bandits vs Nairobi, next week sees a game that would make a huge statement for Fulham if they were to win. Next game: West Yorkshire

9 Nile Crocodiles (7-6) - Tough matchup coming up this week as they face off against the War Machine. Next game: Cybertron

10 Algeria Dune Hoppers (5-8) - It's safe to say that Algeria is not a playoff ready team just yet but this week they'll get to destroy one of the lesser teams. Next game: West Nile

11 Hungry Hungry Hippos (5-8) - A rough day for the Hippos as they got shutout. Things won't go any better next week either. Next game: Somali

12 Carolina Flying Tigers (4-9) - The Tigers can coast from here on out as they seek new ownership. Things went from ugly to downright horrid real fast in Carolina. Next game: Alexandria

Bottom Four
13 West Nile Mosquitos (2-11) - Nothing left to say about any of the bottom 4 teams at this point in the season except good luck next season. Next game: Algeria

14 Saskatoon Vulcanos (2-11) - Second and last win of the season for them. Next game: Nairobi

15 West Coast Rage (1-12) - Next. Next game: BURUNDI

16 LHC Naked Turtles (0-13) - THE END. Next game: Sterling

sure a 16-0 would be sweet, but you can ask anyone. Playoffs are all that matter. You can go in with the 8th seed and win it all
