They interviewed John Mitchell about Suh before the Heisman was announced. John Mitchell is one of the best 3-4 DLine coaches out there and he said Suh wouldn't be a good fit for the Steelers.

Did he specify what he thought was lacking in his tool set?

Not bad Logic though Baseball Guy. I think it would be very tempting to the Rams. They need to replace L.Little at end and I think that Suh could Play as a LDE. Notice the Rams have LDT's and RDT's? They don't use NT's. All About Gap Control, lol.

the rams couldn't control the gaps between michael strahan's teeth.

If Johnny Jolly and Cullen Jenkins are athletic enough, Suh definitely is.

Yeah but Suh is a playmaker, why would he possibly want to be a 3-4 DE where it isnt really your responsibility to get to the QB. Its to eat up the line and create lanes for your LB's to make all the plays. Go look up stats for one of the best 3-4 DE's in the game, Aaron Smith, you'll see there's nothing really to boast about.

That's where I'm not seeing why teams wouldn't want him for a 3-4 DE. I don't get how he wouldn't be thought of as a guy who couldn't eat up 2/5ths of a line all the time and make lanes for LBs. I see what you're saying about his play making ability being negated a bit though.

Depends on the gap scheme the 34 coach uses. If its just one gap responsibility then it could work.

Its pretty hard to teach a playmaker, who's use to going after the QB, that its no longer his primary responsibility. Ziggy Hood mentioned this year that its a pretty radical change.

Suh can Play anywhere and still make Plays. Put him at OLB/DE in a 50 (3-4 Hybrid) Defense and I bet he still makes Opponents Game Plan around him.
