maybe it would be less time consuming if you didn't GM 3 WL teams?

not sure why GMing lincoln would be all that time consuming. would require you to really gameplan for 4 games at most each season.

So after 2 complete seasons, wat does everyone think of the WL. I would imagine most that have been here both seasons would like the WL to continue, not that it is in jeopardy, just sparking some discussion. Or would some of you rather go back to the "old" style of Pro Leagues being the top notch with the tourneys to get inter-league competition.

thoughts? discussion?

Forums are terrible and I'm sticking to the Altitude thread.

The forums here suck tbh and can't stack up even remotely to the old SLAP forums.

But when questioning if the WPL is a success or failure, one should look across the board and see if the best 32 teams are here. Since there is at least one gutted team and my team without a coach or gameplan has 3 wins and numerous other very close games, it's obvious this isn't even close to the 32 best teams in GLB.

It is probably more like the best 10 teams in GLB and then a handful of other pro teams that will bounce back and forth since someone has to promote.

/2 cents

why should anyone care if teams 17 through 32 are here? if the top 16 or so teams are here each season, then it's doing it's job.

Perhaps because many of use want to actually see the best of the best duke it out. That we'd like to see incentives for the best of the best players, agents, coaches and teams want to play in the WL...instead of everyone flocking to a few mega teams.

What buffoonish logic, although I'm not sure what else I would expect from a Gamecocks fan (has nothing to do with the thread, but shameful nonetheless). Gutted teams should be removed from the World League, but your team keeping it close against the weakest that Alpha has to offer certainly does not mean that the league is inferior. It means that your pro trophy roster is good enough to be competitive with the least talented teams in the World League, which is just what anyone would expect. Because of regional requirements, this is never going to be the true top 32, but it's far more than simply the top 10. Is there any team in the Pros who is definitely better than the 20th best team in the World League? I doubt it.

Absolutely there is.

A lot felt Valhalla last season would be near top 10 in the WPL....

And where are they this season?

And we don't even need to get started on super mega-merged teams...

That wasn't even supposed to be allowed, so they should have their own league where they create their own rules.

Things I like about the WL:
The promotion/relegation structure

Other then that the same issues that the other leagues have the WL has as well. What the WL has done is add an extra layer of shit. Taking the good teams from good leagues has made the other leagues less competitive. I also think GLB is in transition due to retirement so its difficult to tell what our leagues will look like 5 seasons from now. Could be better, could be worse.

Well that's just untrue.

One good thing about it is with all the retirement all Pro leagues would have been a lot weaker. At least there is now one league that should always be relatively competitive.
