Also, you're asking why it gets too complicated. Do you know how many phone companies there are? The only thing I can think of that bills your phone is stuff that involves your phone--pictures, ringtones, etc. And you can do that throughout the world.

My comment about how many phone companies there are is important for this reason...GLB would have to "partner" (for a lack of better words) with each of the phone companies. I just think it would be too much work for what little would be gotten out of it. 99% of paying customers on GLB already have a credit card, and they use their credit card to pay for the game. The other 1% come from kids who use their parents' credit cards or general gift card users...

Infact, there are private forums on GLB for a way to get free money online so people can buy flex with paypal.

We have kids who are doing these ad things just to pay for flex because they don't have a credit card.

And yes, there is the possibility of a kid over-charging his phone, but kids can take credit cards, or even over-charge their own.

I like how we're framing this around the what ifs and worst possible scenerio.


I propose that we do away with all user generated images in this game, and names.
It let's people use pornography and profanity.
Some people can do that, we need to make sure we drop everyone down to the lowest level.

Well then.
Your kid can text 5000 times a day and rack up a huge bill.
Your kid can call India for hours
Your kid can call adult phone lines

Each of those rack up a huge bill and it is in the hands of your kid.

If you don't trust your kid enough to not spend money on GLB, how do you trust them to not do the other things?


Also, why not give your kid a Pay-As-You-Go phone plan, where they can only spend what is pre-loaded?

It's just a guesstimate.

Anyways, like I said, it would be too much for GLB to do, considering not too many people will pay via SMS. Most people will use either paypal or their credit card.

Something I wish, though, is that GLB would reactivate the ability to use gift cards. I tried making a purchase with a gift card that a friend of mine gave me, but GLB said that it couldn't validate the card.

Only your mom likes this idea.
