Some of you have a hard on for the Pats, some for the 49ers...we get it.

You should all worship the 85 Bears.

I don't want to get involved in most of this discussion, but come on now. . .Asante is better then a 'good' CB. Yes, the patriots get more out of most of their players then their skill level, but there ARE some exceptions and some genuinely talented players on that team that are not merely products of the system. Asante is one of those guys.

I've got some time on my hands, so I decided to rank the top CB's in the league.

Champ Bailey (Maybe not as dominate a season last year, but he's still the cream of the crop)
Terrance Newman (Ok, maybe some homorism, but I love this guy)
Antonio Cromartie (A beast in the secondary and takes EVERYTHING to the house)
Marcus Trufant (Underrated because he plays in Seattle, but this guy has skills)
Asante Samuel (Solidified a secondary that featured James Sanders (who?) Ellis Hobbs (Wha?) and Rodney Harrison in a wheelchair)
Charles Woodson (Getting older, but can still cover)
Nate Clements (Needs to start living up to his contract. . wait, he'll never live up to that contract)
Lito Sheppard (Why don't the Eagles want to keep this guy?)
Shawn Springs (I hate the Redskins. . .)
Deangelo Hall (Say it with me. . ."OOOVVVERRRRAAATTEEDD")

If he doesn't end up in jail or drunk in a strip club, Pacman will be on this list, probably in the top five. Course, I probably forgot some people as MOST of this was off the top of my head. . I did check a few rosters of teams that I remembered having solid pass defenses last season, and had to confirm some of my spelling.

But, if this is even close, Asante is a top 5, or at worst top 10, CB. I'm not saying the Patriots don't have the coaching and culture to overcome his loss, but let's not say the guy isn't a top CB just because he's not on your team anymore.

lol... you are clueless

Asante is the definition of over rated. He worked in BB's incredible D, w/ an awesome FS/SS rotation to cover his ass... I will be right this year about Asante.

I as sure you were one of the idots that thought the Pat's should have caved to Deon Branch too... Yeah Seatle stole him for such cheap money and he's out-played his contract...ROTFLOL.

Belichick admitted his mis-interpetation of the poorly ambiguosly written memo... he was correct in the words of the rulebook...(I can quote it for you if you'd like!) and and was not hiding a thing. Why would he have a guy filming in full Pats gear, wearing a bright orange vest out in the open, if he was trying to hide anything??? Keep reaching...

Until you can show me a actual quote of BB or Goodell saying it was cheating... you "sky is falling" cheating cries are pathetic. Goodell himself stated it's dumb if you do not protect you signals in the NFL... because...ready?... IT IS LEAGAL TO STEAL SIGNALS!!!!!

Yeah, bandwagon I have been a die hard fan since 1982... season ticket holder '95-2001, before I moved away for family. New England has been sold out since 1993 and has one of/if not the highest revenues and net-woth in the entire NFL. You know nothing. YOU are an assclown.... San Fran is a shell of itself.... cellar dwellars of NFC West.

I KNOW you will be thinking of me when Tom does hoist it again... and you well know I will be laughing at you again!

GFY...

Because I'm a fan, not an idiot.

I could dredge up facts about how the team has the most Hall of Famers, I could dredge up facts about their multiple championships from the 40s, 50s, and 60s...but honestly, who gives a f**k? Most of us were not a twinkle in our daddy's eye at for those wins.

I told you to stop posting unless you know what you are saying. Rodney Harrison is average and your other safety is shit. GODDELL SAID IT WAS CHEATING, THATS WHT THE PATS AND your dumbass coach were fined the highest amount in NFL history. You dont get fined and lose a draft pick like you did for a misinterpretation of the rule book . The pats knew what they were doing , filming other teams signals and adjusting their offense to what they saw. They knew every thing that was coming at them every since this guy has been head coach. They knew what covg that were being played , they knew where the blitzes were coming from , and they knew where the open wr would be. That is obvious cheating. We have finished 2nd to 3rd the past few years in the nfc west, no where near cellar dwellers .And the AFC east is real tuffffff, dolphins , jets , bills.......

Show me the quote where Goodell said "cheating"... I will be the blue guy on the corner holding my breath. Goodell over-reacted, like he has since appointed commish.
They could not possibly decifer 1 1/2 hours of film in 15 minutes of halftime and address all the other areas of the game and implement it. But I am sure BB appreciates you thinking he is Superman.

You are nothing but a sore LOSER... The only reason SF beat St louis by 1 game last year is because they lost Holt, Bulger AND Jackson for most of the season... Their entire offense!

pathetic reach.
this has been fun schooling your little thong ass.... GFY

Maybe not worship, but a healthy respect... I still cringe at the memories of our asses being handed to us in SB XX. Let's all just hope we will never see another "Superbowl Shuffle" in our lifetimes

One of the most embarrassing moments in NFL history.

how am i a sore loser , the topic isnt the 49ers.Its the cheating patriots who have failed to be like the 49ers of the 80s. you claim that the patriots are on their way..They have already failed

Easy to make huge plays like NE when you know what the defense is going to call.

only reason people look good in New England on offense , then suck when they leave . Is because new england's offense knows what defense is coming at them
