They ran the ball right. We didn't defend it very well. I think we got in a morale slide. We were playing pretty well in the first quarter but we threw a pick in the endzone and then got stopped on 4th and 1 on the next drive. Combine that with the fact that I don't think they ever punted and we are going home early again.

Good game plan them and I think a couple of bounces went their way. I always fear the morale issue in the playoffs but obviously they put in a great game plan. I don't think there was any point in the game where I didn't think we were in trouble. It was clear early.

I think you are spot on here with the moral slide. You came out throwing the ball and your drive stalled after a few incompletions. We took the ball and run, run, run then pass, pass and then lightening strikes. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=993768&pbp_id=19432674 You get the ball back and mount a nice looking drive using a nice mix of run and pass then boom. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=993768&pbp_id=19433444 We take the ball off of the pick and mount 15 play scoring drive to go up 14-0 one minute into the 2nd quarter. The first half of the second quarter was pretty quite until Hell's goes on another clock killing 14 play drive using mostly the pass this time putting Hell's up 21-0 with two minutes to go in the half.

The second half was not real that much different than the first other than Hell's was not able to mount those long clock killing drives. Hell's scored on the pick six and another big pass play to keep your moral low. http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=993768&pbp_id=19437134

i agree the morale matters a lot more in the playoffs. in our playoff game vs zimbabwe once the wheels fell of for them after our fist int, they could not do anything right. we really felt the game would be much closer and felt if we turned it over at all we could easily lose. the opposite happened and we laid 100 points on one very good team.

last seasons eden game was all about the pick 6 and eden's big offensive plays. after we got down our team just choked away chance after chance. we drove deep into edens territory and watched them run down the field with an int. we out gained them and beat them in a lot of categories but in the end the romped us by a couple tds. it was not as close as the score indicated.

the one thing you cannot game plan is turnovers and morale. they are the big x-factor of the playoffs.

I haven't done the math, but if you look at the offense for us on the first two drives we look pretty good, then after that int in the end zone....nothing.

I remember a couple of years back we could run the ball on everybody. We had 2 RB's in the top 5 of rushers. On the first drive of the first playoff game we went for it on 4th and 1. The other team forced a fumble and returned it for a TD. We got housed. That was the game where the play by play indicated the QB tried to throw the ball away and it was returned for a TD. Worst play I've ever seen but it happened in a playoff game that we should have been in but were getting housed.

Actually according to the box score you moved the ball much better in the second half. The first have you only tallied 93 yards in the first quarter and 54.5 in the second. So yeah you were basically shut down after the pick in the end zone.

At this point I'm hoping there is nothing in the code that starts to make it more difficult after losing a bunch of playoff games to recover and then win. I don't need 5 seasons of baggage messing with us!
