Why do we need 55 players?

Your players will get VERY tired if you don't have 5-9 dedicated special teams players. You might be able to get some extra PT for your boys, but 5 skill points won't mean a thing in the fourth quarter when your team hasn't got the gas to finish the job.

Myth. You're going to tell me that since I only have a 53 man roster that my team can't finish a game? The only time my guys got tired were during blow outs.

I think this is the biggest roster I've had in 4 seasons.

It's not that you can't finish the game with 53 players, it's that you can' t finish the game as well as a team with 55. Before roster limits, teams with 60+ players dominated teams with rosters in the forties. Stands to reason 55>53.

It also reflects on your recruiting, most of the elite teams have their rosters set before day 31 of the previous season usually with experience pee-wee agents. Not being able to fill the roster means you probably had to go to the market for players, which is usually a disaster. This may not be true to your situation, but less than a 55 man roster is indicative of a team that does not run on all cylinders.

from what I have noticed, it seems that the skill level of the individual player drops when they are not full on energy ...so with a full balanced roster, the energy levels remain at an overall optimum, and the result across the board is: less missed tackles, more completed passes, more tackles broken, more pancakes, etc, etc, etc.

I wouldn't worry abou them, not having that final 6 players to fill their roster to the max will hurt them waaaay more down the road with depth. Now if all 49 boost 3 times at playoff time, then ya, there will be problems. Good thing they are in the other conference from you. Look out for my Rednecks in your Conference though!

Honestly contemplating HTF we can offset this.

That damn print does not lie.
I guess we could boost (or myself since I have the most players scattered throughout the team) and hope opponents don't have the money, or players to retire to catch up too fast.

Might be boosting early just try to secure 8 wins, and hang on down the stretch. Our schedule looks a little more reasonable after the SB ride.

My team has a 55 player roster, 53 were day 31, 2 were day 32. Sell team and rebuild imo.

Actually, bengal and shortbus have 55 day 31s, but have also boosted some it seems. 55 day 31s should be 110 on his list.
