well he's partially right in some respects. if you think about it USA Pro is the hardest league there is. You could take the 2nd and 3rd group in line for WPL from USA and it would compete better than some of the Pro league. So...getting the right teams would've been tough. I'm not sure I hate the idea. Actually I'm glad as of right now. My goal has been and will continue to be to get my team to the pros. Without World League we have to earn it rather than being pulled up because of wholesale changes.

Eventually it will be back to earning your way, right now with retirement happening and World League combined alot of teams are getting promoted easier than normal. If people just give it some time to balance out, you will see IMO stronger Pro leagues across the board, Africa may be one of the weaker right now, but teams wanting to fast track to a Pro League or WPL will start putting Africa first and the better teams moving up now have the choice to come this route. If I really wanted to get to Pro fast, the plan for my slow build team, I would pick one of the easier routes especially now that you can eventually get to the WPL and the end all be all league.

Teams in USA will get the shaft I suppose but tbh it was their choice to be in that league. I am sick and tired of all the USA > BS. It happened like that for a reason, its the oldest league and everyone chooses to be there but honestly if they want it even, spread out, have some balls to try to make other leagues better and dont bottleneck.

I voted for the WPL because I like having the top teams working for one goal. You will start to see teams spread out also I believe and merging with teams in other leagues to get there. This is good for GLB imo top to bottom but its just going to take time to work it out.

It will happen, WPL is killing the other options by a mile.

believe it or not, APL was widely seen as the 4th best Pro League this season. Early on, there were even talks of putting them higher as Marblehead and Drinkin' struggled a bit, and APL was looking very good. WWR pre-mentor glitch looked like a top team, DD had pulled off some nice wins (Marblehead, Porto), and the Sahara Shadowchasers (a team that ended up 7th in Lion) advanced out of pool play in the PWT. I think APL struggled a bit late and they have nowhere near the depth of some other leagues (proven by the fact that Dakar is 2-0 against APL this season), but APL is at least not widely viewed as the worst league any more. This season, that designation was greatly earned by OPL and especially OPL Alpha where the two world league teams will likely not win a game except against each other. The winner of OPL Alpha lost to a USA AA team (don't tell Sly!) and only beat an Oceania AAA team by 3 that Dakar beat by 13. I believe there's a very real possibility that many AAA leagues are tougher than OPL Alpha right now.

That said, you're right about Bort growing some balls. The WPL is a good idea and one we've been waiting on for a while. Having an even promotion and uneven demotion system will allow the process to work out over time. I know the concern is let's say CPL sends 4 teams up this season and they all make playoffs. Now, 2 more go up next season, they all make playoffs. Then 2 more go up in Season 13, and they all screw around to just fuck up the system and miss the playoffs. Now we have 8 teams to demote and only 2 are going to be promoted and 4 demoted out of the regular Pro league. That means we would need AT LEAST 6 other teams to gut/go CPU to make room for the demoted from World League and promoted from AAA. Of course, the easy solution is that in the Pros now, you can get relegated if you finish in the bottom 3-4 under this scenario, but I don't think Bort likes that idea. The bottom line is it's a good idea and will work out. The tourney proposed is sub-par. The history and support for the "official" tournaments is weak as they haven't really been run well at all. Oh well, Bort usually figures things out in the end.

APL got murdered by EEPro in their challenge, the top teams took care of business but the bottom teams all fell.

Even some of the top teams flopped in the EEPL challenge.

The thing is, every team that EEPL submitted was a playoff team or challenging for a spot, while APL had teams from the bottom of the league, like BCP.

Yea at least you stepped up, I followed that and was shocked so few wanted to represent. I even offered Dakar up if they were going to be short when it was 20+ teams lol.

That doesn't change anything, though. If they're already 15/16, no extra promotions go to AAA.
