Drygerian came a long way from their original spot at #35 to where they are now at #3. There are still some head scratchers, but the rankings are definitely improving.

holding the 16th ranked team to five field goals, and shutting down DMP completely...we fall 30 places.

love math based rankings lol

they are fun to look at and talk about though

He got a little confused.... he's referring to the other ranking where we were in the top 50.

How do you compare the margin of victories though? A close win early in the year against what turns out to be a solid team should certainly count for something , or even a narrow loss shouldn't have you penalized as much. Or are teams just compared by how badly they beat or lose to common opponents?

We're not too far off, but we did beat fellow CPL East teams rated #63 and 68 too this past week And even the #34 ranked squad in a scrimmage (though I'm doubting that counts)

Every game has an expected margin of victory: essentially a spread. If the favored team does not cover the spread (narrow victory), the underdog will get bumped up and the favorite will get bumped down.

Lukin, what are your means by which you do this. Is it some greasemonkey script that you made, or a complicated Excel Sheet that takes you 20 hours to do?

Complicated Excel sheet. It takes a ton of time to input all of the teams and schedules at the beginning of the season, but not too much time to update with scores and tournament games.

Kind of disappointing. All this time I was picturing the process as more of a pencil, paper, and an abacus thing.
