However you do it, 16-0 is impressive, as the wrong tactics will eventually get found out.

No 16-0 is what they should get, anything less would and they would be as bad as the storms, and noone is that bad.

Fair enough.

All I am saying is that the numbers do not add up. If Helsinki wants us to believe they started with 1.5 million and a bare stadium, I ask them how they got to a 4.5 million stadium from there.

They did start with 1.5, they took over the knights, but that dosent change they didnt recuit on equel terms with the rest of the teams as they want me to belive, only way the rest of us could build a team like theirs would be to complety rebuild our teams.

If you can explain where that 1.5 million went then I will listen to you. They said that they got 1.5 million to start, then a 1.5 million loan. That is 3 million, where did the other money come from?

You said you started with 1.5 mil like everyone else, and with a naked stadium just like everyone else.

Yet your stadium has 3 corner and a endzone seat.

You start with 1.5 Mil, and you get a 1.5Mil loan, and that is only 3 Mil. The stadium you built cost 4.5 million.

So you are 1.5 million in the hole before you start recruiting. Please explain how you managed that?

Note that the owner is a GM on this team and that the player level is of the team traded to was about 50. Clearly just a cash transfer.

i'm also getting sick of the trophies in this conference being bought by two cohering owners. its a double slap in the face because these teams basically do it while knowing that they will be forfeiting any real future their team has, and a trophy that could have been awarded to a team that worked hard towards winning legit is basically wasted.

You know what I wish, ignorant people such as yourself would just keep your mouth shut!! We have are whole team resigned thru next season and the Greats are here to stay! My players have taken less money to stay with a team that has ownership and GM's that knows what they are doing! I did NOT cheat in anyway. I purchased this team and recruited with the rules that are in place (whether you agree or not) so please stop bitching. I am truly sorry that we did the best job we could within the rules. This is a lvl 34 capped league whether you like it our not! The Greats have worked real hard this season and if we do win the trophy, we WILL have earned it!

All I care is that the Trash Talkers come out guns blazing and give you a run for the title. I know we've earned our spot. This is our 3rd season and we've built a hell of a good team. I'll be disappointed if we get moved up without having a chance to play for the league title.

I was going to ignore this whole thing, really. I mean it's border-line cheating. Or is it? Let's have a look.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=175644&page=1

Oh ... look, a whole thread by Bort dedicated to just this kind of thing. The title of the thread is "Gutting/Collusion ideas" and contrary to what you might think it's not a how-to guide for doing what you did.

There will always be two kinds of people who play games. Those who play by the spirit of the game and those who look for the loopholes in the rules to give them an advantage. You found a loophole and you know it and maybe you even think you're a good player because you figured out how to "game the system." But to me you're just lame because you had to find loopholes to win.

There's no difference between what you did and letting people pay Flex Points for budget. None. But you'd be the first crying if Bort said "100 flex points buys you $100,000" for your team.

All you did was move money from one team that didn't need it to another that got maxed out with your "trade". Nice work. Anyone could have won with that team.

NOTE: Smithers, I'm talking about Helsinki.

I am proud of the work that went into recruiting just like Texas, OU, USC, Florida, etc. which tends to support good results. Those that don't know how or who are not willing to do the work to get the players necessary and within to rules to be the best, don't blame us who are. Sorry for bit of rant, but hate hearing whining.

Like your 9th place team The Springfield Isotopes, which you use as a cash cow/farm team? Just because its not against the rules doesn't make it right.

First of all, before you accuse someone of that you should get the facts straight. Let me give you a little background.

When I first bought the team it was in AA and I've had that team for 3 seasons now. I didn't make the right moves during the chemistry grace period so the team suffered in season 6. I had a decent team in season 7 and we still had some chemistry issues but we were looking decent. Then I got some medical news that forced me to make a decision. I contacted every agent on the team and told them that I was going to sell off the high level guys on the team. I didn't think that they deserved an owner that could not allot his full attention to them. They were lvl's 25-40 and if they had spent that much time on their guys, I figured they at least deserved to be on a team that would make the game fun for them.

I'm active duty Navy and I just found out a few months ago that I have two slipped discs in my neck that will require anterior fusion on the 29th. If that doesn't fix my nerve damage in my arm, I will need nerve decompression surgery in my arm. If that doesn't fix the migraines I'm having, I will have to have a bone in the back of my skull removed. I wouldn't be able to take full control of the team because I am looking at 1 surgery for sure and possibly 3.

Like I said, I contacted every agent, made trades with the agents consent when I got a reply, and used the money from the trades and the money saved by having a team of lower level guys for one season to buy the stadium. All of the lower level guys knew from the start that it was a one season deal so they could get max XP for their guys that would otherwise not play all season. I still keep in contact with a lot of agents from that team. I was upfront and honest with them about the whole thing because I knew I wouldn't be active and nobody likes an inactive owner.

After the season finished, I moved all my Pee Wee agents to Springfield. These guys and gal already know about the medical crap, so when I am inactive it's not a big deal. I have some AMAZING GM's that can control the team when I am incapacitated. I also signed a few other players from agents that I knew that needed playing time. So it's not a farm team and we almost made the playoffs this season. 8-8 is the best that Springfield has done since we started. So, get off of your high horse, get your team competitive, and quit complaining about someone else that is successful.

We have a great team and we didn't do anything shady to get it.

Sorry to hear about your neck and your job.
