Nope, you are full of shit.

You are talking about the Social Underclass, not once have we brought those into the discussion, we can if you'd like? We were clearly talking about those who are taxed.

Also, I call them slaves because that is exactly what they are. We give them enough money to:
Have a roof over their heads.
Eat.

What else are they?

What am I full of shit about?

What kind of taxes are we talking about? I'm sure that when some Clownshoe's malone walks into a store and busts out his food stamps and purchases an item other than straight food he or she pays taxes, right? Or do your salves get permission to avoid the taxation on any and all goods because...well they need a break too.

You can't say we have enough money to have a roof over their heads, people make decisions to do what they do. Hell one of your salves could easily cut your arm off for ONE MILLION USD and guess what, he wouldn't be your slave anymore would he? But then again, I forgot only the "LUCKY" people can be prosperous...

Also I'm thinking if they are your slaves, do you tell them what to do, bend them over and punish them? Essentially with human rights in question - I thought slavery ended a long time ago did it not? Your vocabulary is lacking and this conversation would be much more legitimate if you had a new term other than "slave"

I like the term slave, I can use serfs instead?

You do realise, everything you said is true of those in the plantation? Oh and they can't just up and find another job, I can refuse to write them a reference.

We can break it down on Social Class if you'd rather?
Social Underclass
Working Class
Middle Class
Upper Class
Elite

Would you rather discuss it with those brackets?

You want to remove people from benefits:
Simple, to get benefit money they must work. The are enough simple things the Government can do to put them into work. The is a flaw with the System the System itself isn't flawed. The are many fine examples of where Social Security/Benefit Money is used in a much more productive fashion than the USA does.

But you are bringing the Social Underclass into a debate about the Working Class, when they are two different groups. For an Economist I'm shocked you don't know the difference between the two.

So which group do you want to discuss? And we were clearly talking about the tax on earnings.

"it's a fairly well known fact Social Mobility during the 1990's and 2000's is no where near what it was during the 1950's"

WTF are you yapping about. The 90's offered more opportunity for garage innovation than any other time in history. Off the top of my head...

- Yahoo (garage...)
- Google (garage...)
- Mark Cuban
- Michael Dell
- Ebay (Meg Whitman)
- 1000's more

There are literally tens of thousands of people that took what they were given and turned it into something. It's called the American Dream, something the current white house is intent on killing.

You can claim that all you warn, they are the ones who spent years studying it. I'll take their view and the research study on it over your opinion.

Aside from this being so much fun...

1) Realize is spelled with a "Z" not an "S" you stupid serf - they would have taught you that if had only went to class Mister Rich Sir.

2) It is without a doubt in my mind that 95% of people can get another job without a reference. Besides, aren't you still going to school? Stop your power trip captain.

3) Where the hell is social security playing a role in all of this? Maybe we should talk about Union Workers and pension plans?

4) Working Class and Middle Class? What happened to the working middle class?

5) Are you still 185, ripped and ready to unload on Chuck Norris? Because Chuck Norris says, "the Buck Stops Here".

1) http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/realise?qsrc=2888
Fail, realise is the British spelling.

2) I'm doing a masters, one day a week. I got my degree from Buckingham at 20.

3) Not sure what the correct term for your benefit is, I thought it was Social Security Payments.

4) We define them as Lower-Middle Class, but if we use that version we'd have over 10 different groups and it just gets annoying.

5) I think I'm nearer 190 now.

Last I checked it was an internet game, for anyone with an internet connection, where ever they come from.

More inline with the rest of the thread hijack():
How much Obama is a socialist remains to be seen. While I am not happy with the way he is handling this, it is incredibly easier to undo his policies, then heal and return from the dead those lost to Bush's policies that stuck us in Iraq.

Besides it's not like the Republican's as the other party are offering any options that seem to have an equal chance of success at this point. Personally at this point I blame Paulson and company for attempting to score political points with the TARP money they had going into election time, instead of doing the hard thing and removing some of these bad assests from the banks balance sheets.

Also for the record Obama himself, no matter how socialist can't make major changes without votes from the Legislative branch multiple times. The idea that POTUS can do anything besides nudge the national economy a little bit has always made me laugh.

Lastly imo the attack on personal freedoms don't belong to one party or politician in this country right now. All that changes with the person or party in question is which ones they are attacking.

Fixed that for you.

In this day and age what does it matter where something is made? Does Bort not take pounds for flex points? Are we supposed to have advantage in the code as Americans cause the variables are called color instead of colour? Or are you just being an asshat cause you can't discuss the issue with someone on it's merits?

Man, that was a heck of a game between Iceland and Chuck. You have to give credit to Iceland for taking the 81 play pounding and finding a way to win.
