You still don't get it.

My Nighthawks team did a poll like this way back in BBB10 (3 Championships ago).

One team that didn't vote continually ranked higher than they should have because there was always one fewer vote for all of their competitors.

In other words, if you are a good team and you vote you will be on every ballot but your own. If you are on a good team and you don't vote, you will be on every ballot.

And the more teams that don't vote, the more warped the results are.

Bottom line:

If EVERY team votes, having them not include themselves is great. This is as unbiased as an opinion poll can get.

If every team doesn't vote, having voters include their own team will bring about a more accurate OPINION poll.

The NCAA coaches poll allows coaches to vote for their own team, and it's the most respected poll in college football.

We're just not so anal to care about it that much.

If somebody gets their jollies playing statistical games to win polls that really don't matter; good luck to them.

It worked just fine when i did it 2 seasons ago no problem. But I guess it must have been flawed somehow...

Based on the intelligence level here, it's hopeless.

Either way you have a problem. My vote is to vote for yourself and if someone votes their team too high just stop counting their votes.

Thunder I am glad that you are out and I do see your point. Coaches poll is very respected and they can vote for their own teams but it is highly frowned upon. Also now you insult my intelligence, I really don't think you want to go there. Someone who is a certified genius as you avatar says should know better then to base someones intellectual prowess on what they say in a forum.
If you care to get into one of those types of matches; I will gladly accept the challenge. THIS IS THE WAY WE WANT TO DO THE POLL.... can you not grasp that since you are so smart, It's not the best way, but the way we want to do it, we all understand what you are saying hell my 8 year old nephew understands it, we just don't want to do it that way. I would appreciate that you give everyone in these forums the same respect of their views and opinions that you so demand for yourself.
