Agreed. Saw the same thing in Southeast Asia last season. That one also started with someone "accidentally posting complaints in the wrong forum."

In the end, it was manufactured drama much like I think this will turn out to be.

The jig is up the news is out they've finally found me.

I think the whole thing is f...ing dumb. Whether it's real or manufactured. If it's real, keep this s..t in-house. If it's manufactured, I don't know the purpose of it. If it's just for laughs, then it's very far from funny. If it's some sort of con that I don't yet understand, then go back to my first sentence in this post.

I spent quite a bit of time defending and honestly being concerned about Scace over a stupid joke? Idiots.

It was a joke.

I guess I'm going to have to retract all those offers I made to SCACE's players.

Seriously, while the practical joke was a bit irritating, at the end of the day, they got us pretty good. I give them all props for being inventive and convincing.

I am, however, awaiting a formal mea culpa from SCACE and the gang.

Guys, it was a joke. I'm sorry it got many of you worked up.


Scace has been, and continues to be a stand-up guy. He's been very hard on himself from our losses, and as a show of support we've had a thread internal to the team about how he's doing a fantastic job, and that we're behind him 100%.


As a joke we kicked around the idea that the 'rumor' of a team revolt would be a nice 'haha' moment. This thread was not expected to be taken seriously, but it was. I played it up once I noticed that the hook was set, and let it go on too far.


At the risk of my GLB reputation (which I actually value quite highly since it is representative of my own reputation) I put the original post here - expecting it to be refuted and ignored - and then I'd come clean, with the ruse exposed.



Again, my apologies for the non-funny factor, in hindsight - this was a bit juvenile and not how we do things in OPL.

I think it was part of the plan to make Scace feel better. He knew he had our support but he was still a bit down. To see support from other teams made a huge difference.

I am here to formally fall on my sword. Im sorry for those of you who took us seriously, although the byproduct that was a very good one, it's pretty cool one of the owners got to see what people thought of him, and how many people really see him in that positive a light.

For those of you who backed SCACE and posted good words about him, thank you.

MTD is and continues to be a very solid team internally and I have to say after last season on the Perth Scorpions MTD is the reason I am still playing.

I've sent out personal apologies already to the owners who stood up in this thread -- I think my guys have made it quite clear that it wasn't expected to be taken as seriously as it was -- those who know me as an owner know that I treat the players right and we have mutual respect.

Public apologies for the ruse -- I crashed last night and woke up to some posts I wasn't expecting in here, hence killing the thread.

For those that didn't find it amusing at all, I'm sorry as well. As was pointed out, I've been pretty pissed off at myself over AI mistakes in two straight games and this grew out of an internal thread of support and the thought of "would people really believe the sky is falling on MTD after the losses if we posted publicly?", which seemed to fit, at least in our minds, after the continuous pushing of MTD as the #1 team here (thanks McGruff ).

So again, sorry guys if this was bad form.

Yeah.. And also we honestly didn't think things would take off so fast or as much. When people started to kinda believe it, it only added fuel to the fire. Bad joke or not, at least it gave you guys something to do/read.

Apologies to McGruffHawk personally since I twisted the truth a bit in the pm I sent back to him.


Just shows you how twisted we are when we want to pick up our owners spirits..

lol - are you implying we weren't already? You'd think after last seasons conference championship (Nites down 21 at the half) and a regular season game where you were severely outplayed but won the turnover battle for a 20-16 win would be enough to put us on the radar
