I don't think o-line should be measured in pancakes. My guard rarely gets a pancake, but does anyone sack the QB from between me and the center? No. Do two of our HB's on the team have over 1,000 yards rushing? Yes.. Does the QB have a lot of time to throw and is one of the top QB's in the league? Yes..
The o-line has to be good if the playmakers behind them have good stats.. Granted pancakes allow the players to get through, and generally knock that player out of the play, but still. I'd rather have a defender pulled away from me than to have to run around him and still near me.
Just sayin'.. all these guys' stats are really due to good blocking by the line, giving them time and blocks to get the yardage they want. It's probably about 60% blocking, 40% players build really
i agree 100%. but numbers are fun. yaaay.
