we should throw out blowouts in player of the week, unless it is a truly remarkable performance.

Are you choosing o-lineman purely on pancakes? Going deeper than that is going to be incredibly time consuming.

I'll try to look at team sacks allowed, Yards per attempt and Yards per carry as well -- I don't have time to review each game film to determine if a lineman gave up a hurry here or a sack there, or blew a block leading to a TFL or a shorter than expected gain...if someone else has that time, please do volunteer!

Agreed. Though only if the blowout is against a cupcake team. Mean Machine shouldn't be penalized for beating on Samoa, for example, but Samoa beating on New Zealand in 12 hours shouldn't count.

They should all be thrown out. Not sure what you would call a "truly remarkable" performance against a cupcake team.

I'll take matchup into account, but I'm not throwing any game out. When teams beat up on the Rams or Raiders, the NFL doesn't throw their records out, and neither will we. That said, if there is a great performance vs. a solid team, it will have more weight than a great performance vs. a gut.

I'm going to throw out that my guard, Tubby Bitch, is the best lineman purely because of his avatar.

I don't disagree there -- but the avatar award is only presented after a full season.

Are you trying to say the difference between the best and worst teams in the NFL is comparable to the best and worst here?
