The Samoa Gangsters ate their pregame meal and pumped up their steroids for this one. Going into today it was a pretty evenly matched game and then at the last moment the boards had the Gangsters as favorites in this one. And a 63-0 pounding showed who showed up for the game. Saipan had no answer for the swarming defense and couldn't even stop a three man front from sacking the QB. On the other side of the ball there was no pressure on the QB, a lot of miss tackles and passes that should have been knocked down. Saipan better get the grease gun out and get the engines repaired quickly or it is going to be a long season.

The new game plan instituted for the game today was a total flop. Borrowing the playbook from a number one defense didn't even help. What do we see next for Saipan? Well some changes that is for sure. How drastic? Stay tuned...

Never borrow someone elses defense....unless their players come with it.

You just need to figure out what defenses work best with your player's builds, easier said than done with the new AI

Keep on keeping on!

Phil McGoofy, janitor for the Saipan Fighters, made a some cheap cash today with this goldmine of a photo and story. Linebacker Jay Finn was recently working out in the team fitness center alone(which was dumb on his part), and while doing a heavy squat, his bowels came lose and, well, let's just say the Mississippi River made an appearance. Apparently his Pepto Bismol had just worn off at the time. Finn paid the janitor half of his yearly salary to not tell anybody. Obviously, the janitor is a dirty liar, because he came to the post and earned a couple of more bucks.

http://s169.photobucket.com/albums/u233/comicfanman/?action=view¤t=gym.gif

Needless to say Finn is at his lawyer's office trying to recoup the paid salary to keep this quiet. With the child support payments and this recent embarrassment it seems Finn will be working for free this season and most likely wearing a bag over his head coming and going practice sessions.

A couple of big moves were made by the Fighters a trade was made to bring in another offensive lineman sending FB Big Stump to the USA Pro Leagues helping the Philadelphia Continentals in the quest for a championship. Guard Omar "The Wall" Gunther said "with my power look for some big holes to open up, we'll get the running game going now". Cornerback Hawk Carrillo also signed bringing the much needed depth at the defensive backfield that Saipan was needing.

Andre Woolfolk has been put on probation by the Fighters for betting against the team and his career may be short lived in Saipan. This would make sense why his play has not been up to league standards.

Last to report today, is that of the surprising sighting of Ray Finklesteinsburg. Ray is the leading wheeling and dealing professional sports salesman in GLB. What was he doing in Saipan? Something seems a little fishy here. Comicfanman left with no comments today about Ray's visit. So we will have to see what happens. Stay tuned.....

Happy Thanksgiving to the Oceania Pro League!!!

We had a strike at the paper and finally have an agreement that will work for both owner and employees. In the midst of the strike things have fallen apart in Saipan. The Fighters seem to be on strike also and continued fighting among players is evident in the bruises on everyone's faces. Owner comicfanman had to leave due to family illness and left the team in the hand of the GMs, which turned out to be a bad idea. No team meetings were held with the players and tactics were not being followed on game days. GMs seemed to be bickering on who was in control and who was calling plays from the sidelines. So upon comicfanman's return he stripped all GMs of responsibilities and took over for his first game back against G-Town. It was a much improved game overall in a close game that could have went either way.

Since comicfanman's return he has noted that his biggest problem is with the offense production and ball control. So there are going to be changes to fix he morale of the team. The in house fights have to stop if the on the field play is going to be fixed. Be prepared for some drastic changes in the near future.

I know Ray Finklesteinsburg has been in contact with comicfanman about the sale of the team. But nothing has been said to prove that is what is happening. Maybe comicfanman is just looking for a summer home?

IC Incinerators is up next and look for another tough game for Saipan. The IC Incinerators played a good game against the Vanuatu Kava Sharks and just came up short. So what will happen in the next game for Saipan? Stay tuned....

Hello Saipan Fighter fans!!! It looks like the Fighters are looking to the future at this point. A Thanksgiving day move which brought in bad boy JR McClinton in at the halfback to help beef up the running game for the Fighters. This will be a hit or miss move and we will know towards the end of the season and if JR McClinton will resign a deal as the starting halfback for the Fighters. During the time off the coaching staff decided to have some work and fun schedules and ran some combine tests and competitions. The only roster member that did not participate was Gerald Alexander who had to be out of town. Probably not a good idea with a game against the IC Incinerators the next day but if they don't try and restructure things now season seven could just be a continuation of a dreary existence since season one.

Look to see kicker Steve Berlin to be on the cover of the next GQ magazine and even SI swimsuit issue with the scores given in the Swimsuit Competition of a perfect 10. Berlin is also now declared "The Playboy" of the team as he also won the Chick Magnet award for Saipan.

In the Hot Dog Eating Competition Young Blood put away an impressive 45 dogs in 12 minutes to surpass Billy Jack Von Erich and Keifer Dog by one dog. Maybe that explained the game play today in the loss to IC.

It was no surprise that Keifer Dog won the Best Wrangler award for the Steer Wrestling competition. The biggest shocker of the day is when offensive tackle Total Distraction won the Limbo Contest with a measurement of 22.81". Pretty impressive for an offensive lineman. Be sure to slap him on his back when you see him in town.

On a bad note we heard news of some season 6 departures and it seems pretty shocking at some of the names. Quarterback John Fourcade is tired of the amount of sacks and to protect his knees he has decided to find a team with a little better protection on the line. With the addition of bad boy McClinton expect to see the departure of Travis Edwards who won't want to play 3rd wheel. Another shock is the reliable Jonas Jackman at wide receiver will be leaving to take a starting job next season. Expect newbie Hawk Carrillo to be hanging up his Fighters uniform also as he has not been happy since signing his contract. A couple of key positions that will need to be filled by the start of season seven.

With the last two games comicfanman has been learning a lot about what his team can and can't do. Now he just has to get his players to see what he has seen. Will Saipan pull it together? Stay tuned....

DAILY NEWS FLASH

With the revolt of GMs while owner was on vacation - the team is losing many of it's players. A war of agents and players amongst themselves have been duking it out in the locker. So either by choice or by no choice they will be leaving.

The quarterback controversy continues with there now being 3 guys on the team where at the beginning there was only one. You can call this a feeling out process if you want, but I think a move is being made there. There are also rumors of talks with other quarterbacks who think they can come in and turn things around for Saipan. Could end up being like Tampa Bay Bucs with the QB situation around here.

There has always been a problem with the defensive backfield as well, look to see some changes there as well. Right now only one guy is returning as of now. The defensive backs have been exhausted all season and it is like they are in summer camp all season long. This has to be fixed or Saipan will never keep a crew of good backs.

The lineman have had their meetings and it looks to be that all of them will be returning. I think the owner said he would pay for all of their meals in season 7, including their home meals. Grocery tab looking to be a big part of the salary next season

As for the family of linebackers expect them to stick together as they have for most of their careers. Skullcrusher, Moy and Buch will of course come back as a trio and have taking a liking to Finn. Stonehead on the other hand is not used to all of the pranks yet and is undecided whether to stay or go.

The Kickers have become room mates and have signed for another season. Long Foot thinks he might get lucky with the player as a room mate. His dating life is kind of in the pits lately. With Berlin making the covers of GQ and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and of course being bachelor of the year in the Oceania Pro League, he might just get lucky.

A surprise may come in the receiving crew this upcoming season as well. Watch out there in the days to come. With back and forth run/pass games the receivers are frustrated. "Where are the hay days where we threw the ball all of the time? We can't run plain and simple no matter what we do" exclaimed Jackman. This has go thte crew talking and it will be interesting if there will be changes here or not.

The newly acquired HB and FB may continue their career with Saipan if they can get their negotiations settled. They have been learning the playbook and looks like after last game they may have found something that worked. Two good guys if Saipan can bring them back.

So season seven looks to be an interesting one especially after having such a big let down this season, where we thought Saipan would rank in the top 15 of Oceania Pro. We did not expect the new teams to be as rough and tough as they were in the ZETA Conference. Maybe the Fighters should have moved to ALPHA Conference for a season to at least bring home some wins.

But there has been a lot of surprises this season, biggest the Mean Machine losing back to back games and their winning streak crushed. But this is The Oceania Pro League where surprises are always happening. What is to come nest? Stay tuned...

Contract is all but signed. Agent is going over the fine print. Comicfanman is wasting no time in recruiting knowing there is tension in the locker room. The best thing that happened this season for Saipan is the firing of the GMs mid season. They haven't won a game but the Tongan Crimson Auha can attest they are players in the League under the right management and players.

Who is this magical WR? Stay tuned.....

BREAKING NEWS: McClinton Calls For Press Conference

In discussing his future with the team star Saipan Fighters running back has called for a press conference. The conference which is scheduled for this afternoon is regarded as highly important to the future of the franchise considering that McClinton was a player that Saipan picked up to end their losing ways.

JR: Hello press and welcome. Lets begin with questions.

Reporter 1: How have you managed to stay clam while your teams have been losing since you left the delta force?

JR: Well I just try to focus on maximizing my abilities and having the best game possible. If you look at my stats 9/10 times I am the best running back on the team I play for.

Reporter 2: While your offensive line has been dominated physically how do you find ways to gain yards?

JR: If the running game isn't working for the team I consider myself a definite receiving threat out of the backfield and I'm a very determined runner when things aren't going the way I like.

Reporter 3: Okay now the question everyone has been asking JR...What do you plan on doing regarding your future with the team, your contract expires at the end of the season and you have an offer for an extension from Saipan.

JR: No offense to my current team but at this stage in my career I want a championship and I don't care where I go to get it. Money is not the issue I want to win and be in an atmosphere where I can be the best back that I can be.

Reporter 3: *amid uproar among Saipan faithful* WAIT? SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

JR: I plan on testing the free agent waters after this season but will not rule out a return to Saipan. Thank you. *calmly walks off stage*
