RT I am guessing you are young, it takes time to get up in money. Money isnt the only reason I voted the way I did, as I am sure it isnt the only reason you voted the way you did. Hey that is America...

We haven't voted Republican since 1972 with Nixon's landslide (longest streak in the country) and we learned from that mistake, lol. Either way Obama's gonna crush here. Also we're only 10 electoral votes.

Edit: I agree about Pelosi...

Voting in about an hour in wonderful liberal MN. As long as Al Frankin isnt in our Senate I will be happy.

LOL I know we ain't no Texas, sorry wms

So you make >$250,000?

I have hope that Obama can reduce some of this divisiveness, but we'll see I guess. I would classify myself as a "liberal" but I really don't want the Dems to win 60 seats in the senate. I have a feeling they would screw some stuff up and lose all of this ground that they gained the past 8 years. ugh.

Just under that...but I don't like to hug trees, I like to hunt, and eat venison...I also like to give my G/F fur coats.

I guess I don't see the problems between hunting and "liberals", or eating venison for that matter.

I have no problem AT ALL with hunting, and I really don't think that most Dems do either. (note: I do not consider myself "democrat" but I usually vote that way). Some crazy people that classify themselves as "liberals" are all about the animals but it's not a mainstream view IMO. I personally don't really care, and I think there are more important matters. And I think most people think that way too.

Then you havn't been to Madison

Heh, actually I have... I was pretty close to going to school there.

So when you make good money you want to give it away? There are a lot of reasons, that is just one of why I voted McCain. Remember just call me Daddy, since I am old enough to be yours.

What is your definition of "good money"?

You make >$250,000? Pretty sure I never plan on making that much. If I did it would be nice, but I don't see it happening. If I did make that much I may feel different I guess. HOWEVER, it's not like Obama is proposing to go from 0 to 39%, he's going from 35% to 39%. Which is what is was before under Clinton.

As for the rest of us (which probably includes you), we'll be getting a tax cut. We'll pay less in taxes under Obama's plan than we would under McCain's plan.

Now of course there is more than just taxes at stake here, but I don't get this logic. Please explain.

Tax and spend, tax and spend. Democrats creed. I should not get penalized for working HARD, and paying a much larger percent of my income. So because I work hard I should pay MORE? Explain why I should sign up for this. There are many other platforms, but this one gets to me.

If you never plan on making that much I am sorry. You should have goals. This is the United States. Anything is possible, heck a black guy is gonna be president.

That's $10000 out of pocket. So the other $90000 a year that I pay in taxes isn't enough?

Mark my words, you will pay more taxes. You don't think of it now, but capital gains isn't just a wealthy man tax, it hits everyone. Sell the house that you have been living in for 15 years and 28% of the gain goes to the government. Think about that. You make payments of $1300 per month on a $150000 house, sell it 15 years later for $250000 (you have made $234000 in payments and still owe $50000 on the house)and you get to write the government a check for $28000. Then there is the inheritance tax. I'm not a silver spoon, my family has a farm. If my Dad had died this coming year instead of last year, under Obama's plan, we would have had to sell the farm just to pay the inheritance tax.

There are way too many taxes to get caught up in the mythical income tax break.
