Oh I see, you tell someone they are wrong, and then criticize them for not accepting your understanding of their wrongness. I gotcha.
No, I mean things he was undeniably wrong about, not just differences of opinion. We have a difference of opinion about whether or not Dublin got hosed, but it is a fact that equal treatment and fair treatment do not mean the same thing.

I agree that equal and fair are not the same, but in the GLB context, if two teams are treated equally, it IS FAIR, right?
Uh ... you just acknowledged that equal and fair aren't the same, but then you want me to agree that they are the same here. Why would they be the same here if they aren't the same anywhere else? They aren't the same in GLB either.

For Dublin to have been hosed, Lewisburg would have to have gotten an advantage over them, not GLB getting an advantage over them
No. Lewisburg benefited from a flaw in the game's programming. It was not Lewisburg's fault by any means, but the time per pass play in GLB is wrong and it did end up costing Dublin a playoff win. The fact that it has also cost other teams wins, perhaps including previous Dublin opponents, does not change the fact that it's still wrong.

Problem is that you have exactly proved my point - he called a large strike zone for everyone. It was even on both sides.
Ugh. Having to repeat myself because people don't understand the concepts the first time gives me a headache. The fact that both teams were subject to the disadvantage doesn't make it "fair," so no, I proved my point and showed why your argument is invalid. Have you heard the old saying, "two wrongs don't make a right"? If something is not being done properly and it affects an outcome, then that is unquestionably unfair, even if both teams have to deal with it.

The Braves did not get hosed.
Check articles from 1997 because almost everyone on the planet disagrees with you. It was a scandal precisely because the Braves did get "hosed." That's why it was covered so relentlessly in the sports media, because it was outrageous and unacceptable. If anyone considered it "fair" because both teams were subject to Gregg's absurd strike zone, then it wouldn't have caused such a stir. I think you know that and you're just being stubborn because you don't want to admit that you're fully aware of the fact that equal treatment and fair treatment are not at all the same thing.

First, anyone relying on GLB mirroring real life is obviously not paying attention.
GLB isn't going to be a perfect simulation of the NFL or college or any other level of football, but it is intended to be an accurate representation of football. That's why we don't have players with jet packs or guns. That's why you have four downs to gain ten yards. GLB is intended to represent conventional, real life football, which is why so many of us play it. When GLB does something completely at odds with real football, people usually have a problem with that.

Second, if you watch game film ever (five seasons worth now), you will see that 2 and 3 second plays happen all the time
Actually Bort made plays take a shorter amount of time for Season 5 because people were complaining that they took too long and interfered with comebacks at the end of games. I and apparently others believe that he took that correction too far.

Third, we can't specifically game plan anything that makes it more or less likely our players will be able to stop the other team on an elongated clock based on very short plays
Of course you can. Are you a DC? Do you not have late 4th quarter specific settings?
