Here was my idea on how to set up the pairings (a few choices):

I think the best way to do the pairings is one of three ways:

Option A: Have a captain from Oceania PRO do the pairings for Alpha and a captain from SA PRO do the pairings for Zeta

Option B: Have a captain from Oceania PRO put out 3 teams from Alpha (or Zeta) and have a captain form SA PRO put out 3 teams from Zeta (or Alpha). Then the captains switch roles...the Oceania PRO puts out their 6 teams from Zeta (or Alpha), 3 into direct matchups and 3 on an island. The SA PRO captain does the same for Alpha (or Zeta). Then they go back to their original placement and set the final 3 matches.

Option C: We set aside the Zeta vs. Zeta and Alpha vs. Alpha boundaries. One captain from either SA PRO or O-PRO sets the first match from the 12 teams, followed by the other captain setting a match, in a back-and-forth style until all 12 matches are set up.

... or we take last season's final four from each region (if all are participating) and match them according to how they finished. And then take the remaining 7 teams (or whatever) from each region and have the captains take turns setting match-ups.

Just an update from the SA Pro guys: we've got 11 signed up so far. If you don't have more guys sign up, we'll trim some off to make it work.

Also, Option D, copy-pasted from the SA Pro thread: Why don't we just end up with an equal # of teams and rank them in order from best to worst on each side and just have them match up? I'm sure we can come to an agreement.

1. Santiago Benitos
2. KrAzY MoNKeYs
3. Wall Knights
4. Waikikamukau Wop-Wops
5. Cobra Kai
6. San Juan Caballeros
7. Tijuana Donkies
8. Porto Allegre Smugglers
9. Brazilian Cardinals
10. Rio de Janiero Carnales
11. Galapagos Guardians

Just a preliminary list I threw out there. I mean, I think that would be pretty easy.

EDIT: These are just the teams that have signed up so far. If more join up or we have to trim, obviously it would change.

There are easier ways to do it obviously -- I just thought it would be fun to have a captain or team of captains from each side, like the Ryder Cup, choosing 1/2 of the matchups to try and get the most points for their side.

We'll be fine with whatever is decided.

My guess is Havoc will captain S.A. I nominate Scace to co captain in Oceania.

I like idea Scace's idea of S.a. putting 3 teams out for matchup then we match in round one, teams 4-6 we put out first and they match and so on?

We should get together in chat to discuss matchups. Looking at S.A. lineup, I say we can take em'

One idea S.A. is exploring is going to AAA to fill team roster. We might want to see what good teams are in Oceania AAA to participate.

South America AAA#2 verse Oceana Pro

10/05/2008 Melbourne Thorny Devils at 15:00 Matchup

How can you expect to beat a SA Pro team after the Bogota Roosters of AAA#2 DOMINATE!

If we go this route, I nominate any of the following from AAA#1:

Samoa Gangsters
So Cal BDC
Fakafo Bomb Squad
Cajun Crushers

Someone who came up from AAA#2 can nominate from there, as I'm not as familiar with all the teams over there with some of the turnover.
