So then we'd have lvl 38 non-boosters FORCED into AAA/PRO playing against Lvl 60+ guys?

Awesome. Competition problem solved.

Something along this line where teams get to schedule their own games. They would then control if they play gutted teams. They could also schedule the same teams every year if they wanted to have a sort of custom league or keep rivalries alive.

So it seems to me that the cloud is providing a pretty good level of play and preserving rivalries well. Why can't the cloud be extended all the way to decline?

Extend the "minors" to a cap 50 and cap 60 level with the same elite-competitve-standard structure, the the last level would be uncapped and have an AA-AAA-PRO-WL in place of Elite/competitive/standard.

In cap 60 the Elite leagues would be limited to 8 and their league champs would promote strait to pro, along with 24 AAA champs/runners up.

AAA would consist of Elite playoff teams, Competitive Champs, and AA playoff teams.

AA would be everyone else.

Maybe have a A for the real dregs.

Why is it that we have played 16 seasons and still nobody can figure out a workable league structure for this game?
It does not speak well for the future of this game.

If I were to change the league structure....

.....Well I'm not. I don't get paid too. Too busy trying to find a forum thread that just states how much BTs additional upgrades, etc cost, and can only find threads with endless pages of discussion. I wish I could help but I'm just too busy trying to re-learn how to play your game, etc. Wondering if I even want to try to start new players now.

Perhaps hiring an outside consultant to just look objectively at the issue(s) and offer up solutions that are needed would be best??

Come up with some ideas and poll us...

I had a suggest 1 calender year ago about making all leagues smaller, except Pro, WL....it was flawless! It totally solved the "watered-down" league effect we have now and rewarded more teams with greater chances for the playoffs, playoff excitement and experience = owners stay to play, re-new ownership and builds rivalries when everyone plays a home and home in the reg season!

This would keep ALL like builds in their proper competition, regardless of level. It would keep SSB's honest, non-boosters honest, etc, etc.

By keeping non-boosters honest you mean running them out of the game.

The cloud actually works fine for the minors, it's the overly broad uncapped area that screws it up.

Ladder systems like online gaming leagues run IMO with the occasional tournament

That DONKEIDIC guy had a great idea even though jdbolick didn't care for DONKEIDIC's idea too much. What ever happened to that? It would have rocked.

I'm a big Rickey Henderson fan btw.

The first thing needed to improve league structure which has been clearly proven is to put the proper people in charge to make these decisions/choices. It has been clearly shown that no change is going to happen even if the community comes up with what may be the best ideal.

Epic^^^^^^
