Anyone know what to do about a horrid stench coming from a drain? We've had customers complain/remark about it and we hate it too. We've tried running a shit ton of water down the sink which vaguely helps, we've poured a ton of baking soda straight down in, and we've tried masking it which ends up mixing it with other scents which makes it worse. Wat do?

Tell your manager to call the appropriate vendor because it needs to be snaked. Not your job, not your liability. It's probably minor, but you work for Walmart and the last thing you want to learn is that it's something more serious than a 5 minute job.

Sounds like it isn't being properly vented . If it had a vent stack through the roof then do like Romo said. Possible that it has a stutor vent that has gone bad. You say it's a sink? Is it in a cabinet and if so check underneath for a stutor vent.

Should be a trap in the drain though which is meant to hold water to keep the smells from coming out...Im no plumber just taking guesses here

Its sad when you can tell that the local weather gurus are actively rooting for there to be one or more tornadoes. I not suggesting that they wish hundreds to die, but their voice is tinged with disappointment anytime a storm chaser mentions something the rest of us would find calming, and then their enthusiasm cranks back up whenever something potentially dangerous is spotted. And make no mistake about it--its enthusiasm rather than "concern" I can hear in the broadcasters voice.

Well, yeah.

Danger means ratings. Ratings mean job security.

So I went in today ready to tackle the drain problem with a call to management or tape since they'd probably ignore it and apparently they fixed it like an hour after I left Monday

Bought a pair of Rainbow Sandals and people aren't kidding about the break-in time. They're like a new pair of boots. Definitely going to take a solid week or two of wear.
