There are some boxers that don't try to win on points. They are typically referred to as "losers".

Lmfao you think power punches are a meaningful thing? Anything that isn't a pure jab is counted as a power punch, so every time Mayweather threw a panicky run-away cross/hook/uppercut that didn't completely catch air it was counted as a power punch connect. People who use compubox as a decision-maker don't know anything about boxing.

I'll give your advice back to you and suggest you walk away from the keyboard because you're talking out your ass on a subject you clearly know nothing about

We need to change the points system or put in a new system. He won on the current points system which proves how much it sucks. Running/hugging/foot-stepping should never be a win.

You're new around here aren't ya?

Edit: 99% sure Cornblade deleted the post above mine. Some rando asked where the OP went.

Let's see, the guy known for being an idiot in these forums is insisting that every single boxing expert (who unanimously agree that Mayweather won the fight) is somehow wrong and he alone is correct. And by the way, quibbling about the definition of a "power punch" won't make anyone forget that you had no clue about Mayweather throwing more punches in total than Pacquiao while landing nearly twice as many.

The reason why people are so mad about this fight, is because of Mayweather's tactics. He hit Manny below the belt, he grabbed Manny whenever he started an assault, and most of his hits were very weak jabs. Yes, he beat Manny in points most definitely, but the way he did it felt cheap, and unsatisfying. I counted 13 times in the first round alone when Floyd Mayweather clinched Manny when he started throwing combos. Floyd Mayweather physically looked more beat up than Manny at the end of the night, yet he still walked away with a victory because of a flawed scoring system.

The guy known for being an idiot in these forums is the one trying to back out of an ass-spoken argument about power punches. See my sig for past proof of said idiocy. Mayweather won on points because the point system sucks. He was the inferior boxer here, with your almighty all-determinant power punches being meaningless. Again with the compubox shit from you. Would you argue that 1 punch that rocks someone is worth less than 2 range-finding jabs? Let the numbers crap go. Manny landed more combos and had him rocked. Floyd had slightly less significant punches if you watched the fight. He gamed the system like he has in a ton of his fights and won by going for points, not by being the better fighter.

This, thousands of times over. Very well stated.

I'm not arguing that it was fixed, not arguing that Manny should have had more points, none of that. Im arguing that he was the better fighter, which he was, and the current points system doesn't recognize it.

rams78110, there's no way that you genuinely don't realize what people think of you. The people on these forums and presumably the ones in every other facet of your life think you're a dumbass precisely because of the dumbass things you say. Highlighting your ignorance in your sig by still not understanding that someone can play through pain but not a muscle seizing up just adds a layer of comedy to your perpetual stupidity. You said "Running away and actively trying not to box, punch, or be punched should lose you a fight" because you had absolutely no clue that Mayweather threw more punches and landed far more punches than Pacquiao. What you said was stupid and wrong because you're a moron.

That's not what rams78110 argued at all, but he's going to pretend this is what he meant because he realizes that what he actually posted was indefensibly stupid.

On a completely unrelated conversation, I bought some MD 20/20 because it was $3.99. I see why it was $3.99

It tastes like someone melted a jolly rancher in some rubbing alcohol and used it to scrub industrial equipment.

1. Throwing weak ass "power punches" (according to your deity the compubox) while running away is boxing in the same way that playing catch with your niece is playing baseball: it isn't.

2. Calling me a dumb ass (2 words, dumb ass) while acting like the problem with a punctured lung is just that it hurts is so stupid it leads me to believe you're trolling out of a basic refusal to believe anyone can be that stupid and still remember to breathe.

I mean holy christ I didn't even have to move anything around. The posts were literally in that order. I said the points system sucks, someone else said the points system sucks, jd comes in saying that wasn't my argument.
