Nope, though I have built the O different this time around. Clearly worse for Rookie.

mind sharing what you did differently? iirc WH was tech heavy with chef, wasn't it?

Good game. All of those turnovers definitely didn't help your cause

Yes it was because I only ran QB Rollout. My HBs were blockers. The plan was to respec to a hybrid O after Rookie and that's why my Soph season was a disaster. The O got better in Seasoned, but while I liked the D I was building with WH, I wanted to improve it and quite frankly a pure O is better than most hybrid, but certainly better on a Salary basis.
And that's the point of SCO. At some point, the salary system will be exploited exposing its flaws. It already has been with the Stunners. It's easy to build a great O by throwing salary at it. But the game is really played by optimizing the roster, strategy and salary resources.
No one is really doing it like the Stunners did. There's just way too much synergy in going all-run O, having the ST advantage and doing it with low enough salary resources that you can still build a great D.
This doesn't mean I'll succeed in doing it. But after doing the salary roster analysis of the Stunners vs. Air Raid and AA last season, it's clear to me that all-run has an advantage vs. all-pass. The advantage isn't play efficiency, but in resources. This doesn't mean all-pass can't compete. There isn't a huge edge, but there is an edge.
It's like going to Vegas and playing blackjack, craps, etc. really well. You can lower the house edge to a small number but the house still has an edge over time. That's how I think the game is now in the all-run vs all-pass debate. All-run has the house edge due to salary resources. Again, I'm talking about an edge, not domination. Call it 51/49 or 52/48. It's not 70/30.
So that's what I'm exploring with SCO. Whether I can accomplish it remains to be seen, but that's the challenge I've layed before myself.

What's your salary mix O vs. D on GA? I haven't done it and was wondering if you ever had.

Well this is a Coach/GM game. You can't control the players, so I wouldn't call it an exploit.

I imagine it wouldn't take much to tweak both Logzilla and Default to have more efficient rosters, and improve the defense that way.
Just from checking out Logzilla, you don't need a Professional kickoff specialist. That's money that could be spent elsewhere. I'd definitely argue that pass only or 99% passing teams should not have 2 RB's. RB salary is expensive.

Unfortunately for SCO you won't have any superstar backs to inflict any pain offensively. Many teams are going to be able to shut you down with 1-2 defenses.

I've tweaked LogZilla in moving High contracts off my QB and most of my WRs (exception Belgarion) and putting them on Defense.
A pure-pass team needs a Kickoff specialist. You need Touchbacks against Run only teams. The advantage Run teams have isn't just that their run blocking is suited to ST, it's also that the Defense can't ever rest their run players. Against a Pass O team, the D can use their Pass players on D and their Run players on ST. The Pass players get an energy break and the Run players enact havoc on the Pass blockers. It's a play win for the D. Against an all-run team, you never get a play where you have an easy win and your players have to play every play - literally. The subbing function is usually an advantage to the O.
I probably didn't need a 2nd HB as my returner. I didn't know how much of the load my primary Scat Back could handle. But he's able to play 85+ plays a game without a problem, so yeah you don't need a 2nd HB. I could have gone FB or WR as Returner and saved some salary.

Very true. The real SCO is going to need/have Superstars. That'll happen when LZ runs it's course. For now, it's a test. (Hint/reminder: Don't over-invest in Carry Grip in Rookie.)

Of course, but the kickoff specialist doesn't need to be Professional. Last season was the velocity changes right? If anything your kicker when he was JMan had a better year than he's having as a Pro. Seasoned is totally fine for KO Specialists.

Well, that's an area you could improve upon immediately next season, you'd have to be OK with another agent on your team and 50 chemistry for a bit. But it's more than worth it for defensive versatility.

that said, you don't gain just a ton by getting a sophomore or such KO specialist instead. A high contract or two maybe. Kicker's aren't that expensive.
The advantage from those couple extra high contracts relative to a pro-vet KO specialist is possibly dubious as well. There's definitely an efficency difference in a KO specialist that's been able to pump other attributes, and presumably having more heart would help with Coverage Commander being in play more often to preserve more of your rosters morale/energy. It's possible that a better KO specialist can preserve more team-wide energy/morale than a couple of extra high contracts by going younger at KO specialist.
