Resistance bands, amazing things.

Decided to diversify from my collection of dumb bells, so (essentially) bought one of these... http://bit.ly/1IE9Gbg

Can hit a lot of muscles that are difficult to do with dumb bells, and the inverse resistance curve feels nice.

Though I'll probably need to buy one of the heavier duty ones. That one is just barely worthwhile for some exercises.

I have been buying equipment from GoFit for several years now. My last purchase was when they bundled a set of various resistance tubes and handles, and they are really nice.

They also have some really high quality stability balls with 2,000 pound weight limits. I use one in my home office as an occasional chair and have a second one for workouts. I wanted to be able to do presses and such while on the ball, and didn't really want to be killed by a ball bursting in the middle of dumbell bench presses.

Cornblade is now just a diaper, belt, and funky sandals away from being Alfred Danks.

Its funny how a products past affects its present and future. I just saw a turbo charged version of the VW Beatle (new), and it looked quite striking. High performance wheels, gunmetal gray in color, great stance. And then I found myself wondering how many folks would say "Nice, but that's a chick's car" or "Nice, but that's a hippie car". Its almost as if VW would have been better served taking the technology and performance gimmicks, and then attached them to a newer vehicle that doesn't have the past to overcome that this one does.

But yeah, I mean, I've always been a free weights guy but resistance bands are pretty good for hitting muscle groups that are awkward to hit with dumb bells.

The "chest expander" exercise itself feels pretty dumb, but I'm really liking the tricep extension that I've been doing with it. Also pretty sweet for upright rows.

I like doing bicep curls with the bands after I have gone to failure with dumbells. They seem to better match the natural power curve when you curl.

Awhile back, they were really aggressive in trying to re-brand away from that stereotype. They were offering a lot of money to get manly movie characters to drive them in film as product placement, but the stereotype was so strong producers would not go for it.

After being confined to a wheelchair my grandfather used resistance bands to keep his upper body in pretty ridiculous shape for someone his age.
