Signed and took home an 09 Forester with 49K miles. Very happy with this.

Very nice. Base model 2009, right after the redesign, makes it look very good. It's solid black with that like shiny/sparkly chip paint stuff.

http://imganuncios.mitula.net/2009_subaru_forester_irwin_pa_96782514558886524.jpg looks exactly like that with one small dent almost dead center of the hood and one small brush scratch above the rear passenger wheel well.

Just super stoked to find one with only 49K miles. That means Im still 20-30K from the earliest possible occurrence of the dreaded head gasket issue, and I am driving this mofo till it dies. My next car will be a brand new 2025 something.

If I was ever to venture from the front wheel drive realm to an awd, it would be for a subaru. cause, jesus, I love those cars.
In my early 20's, I had an 87 gl wagon push button 4wd that was fucking awesome. since it was a front wheel drive with push button 4, I still got like 35 mpg with it. loved that car, until some stupid bitch with her learners permit decided that when I was right next to her was the proper time to change lanes. there went that car.

bought an 89 jetta with the insurance money. that was when jettas still got really good mileage. it had 120k on it when I bought it, and I added an additional 180k to that. never burned a drop of oil and was still getting 40mpg when I got rid of it due to massive electrical issues.

I swear, I look back on old cars with more nostalgia than I have for ex gf's

That's because cars are more meaningful than women.

Fun fact, Subaru is actually owned by 'Fuji heavy industries'. They specialize in making heavy duty construction equipment, parts for boeing aircraft, and defense contracting with Lockheed martin. Each of the stars in the Subaru logo stand for each branch of the fuji heavy industries company.

Didn't know that very last bit, that's pretty cool.

The first bit could explain why their cars last goddamn forever. Can't get by on shoddy building making stuff for heavy construction, boeing, and lockheed lol

Im assuming it varies based on state and county, but does anyone know the general rule about modifying a curb? My blazer hopped that shit no problem, but there's some extra body molding on the Forester so it's about 1.5" low of being able to hop the curb into my parking spot.

If jackhammering it or pouring a new ramp off of it are generally not legal, would there be a problem with adding some little plastic ramps? This is normally the type of thing I'd google but I'm not sure exactly what to google pertaining to curb laws.

Edit: Even googling it, Colorado sucks ass at having information. The closest things I could find were an application to install a crosswalk and a commercial application to install a new curb in a previously undeveloped area.

Curb bridge. It is not a permanent change and allows runoff to flow under it.

Most of the manufacturing is outsourced to others, e.g. your automotive stampers. Imagine huge 60+ ton machines slamming down on metal laid on a die that shapes the originally flat metal pieces into their finished product. That creates anything from airbags to very widget-like pieces. Basically the stamper bids on parts from the automotive companies.

One supplier is going to make parts for Honda, Toyota, Subaru, GM, etc. all in the same machinery and location.

They do look gross. However, out of pure curiosity, I am going to try them at lunch tomorrow.
